Works great!
I purchased this to stop racoons from defecating on the shelf in our in-ground pool. It looks very realistic. The only con is the sticker eyes are coming off already (been about a month), and they aren’t reflective. I think if they were reflective it would be even better. However, it does work for us as is. I was concerned that just the head wouldn’t be enough, but bc it is so large, it does the trick to scare them away. There is a hook on the bottom of the head where you could attach it to something if you wanted. I would definitely buy this again.

Realistic
This is a very realistic gator head. I actually bought it to keep the ducks and racoons out of my pool and it has worked great. The eyes do need improvement since are just red stick-on stickers. I do feel that it was too much money but I wanted it due to the size and it is very noticeable. It has solved my problem so I guess that it was money well spent.

Hopefully large enough and scary enough to keep critters from coming to the pool at night.
Most of these decoys when you look at the dimensions are quite small. This is about twice as large as most listed on Amazon. It is also twice the price. It is fairly realistic other than the red devil eyes. Our dogs do a double take. However, unlike an earlier one I had, the underneath is not flat but hollowed out with an eye hook inside as if you were going to mount it as a trophy or tie fishing string to drag it along. It floats alright. Overall happy with the purchase.

Realistic!
My children and I purchased this for my husband who thinks crocs and gators are so cool. I read the reviews and agreed that the red eyes looked very unrealistic. My daughter removed the red stickers on the eyes and painted the eyes a darker color. We put it in our pond and named it Charlie. It honestly looks so real, it’s almost unbelievable. We have cattails and reeds and it just floats around the pond. People spot it and ask if it’s real. We had a bullfrog sitting, floating on the gator last week. I will say that it doesn’t work (in our area of Tennessee) in regards to deterring Great Blue Herons. The Herons still land in our pond and fish. All in all, it a great conversation piece. It’s also become a family activity to walk to the pond and find out where “Charlie” the gator is in pond. He is always in a different place.

Awesomely realistic!
This gator head is AWESOMELY realistic! We wanted it for our pond for fun, and we wanted it to look real. It's a riot fooling people, and we just enjoy watching it floating around. Not sure it would scare birds, if that's your purpose, our wild ducks weren't bothered by it. Like others have mentioned, the red eyes are reflective stickers peeling off when the head comes out of the box, but we didn't care about red eyes either and so we threw them away before it went in the water. If you're looking for a realistic gator to create interest in a pond or body of water, this head is for you. We let it just float around free, going where the wind blows it, but it does have a little hook on the underside that you could use to anchor it. It never blows all the way to shore, it just wanders around the pond, natural looking, we love it.

Works Great
We bought this for our garden pond, which is stocked with goldfish plus a few fancy goldfish and Koi. We have a hawk that spent all of last summer sitting on top of our gazebo, waiting for fish to come to the pond surface. Then he would swoop down and grab them. He ate most of the larger fish. When we set the gator in the pond, the hawk spent a couple of days looping in figure eights over the yard looking at the gator, but he wouldn't land in the yard or near the pond. Wouldn't even land on the gazebo. He finally decided I guess that the gator isn't leaving, so he left instead. If you have critters eating your fish, you need this gator. There is an eyelet on the underside so you use a tether and a weight to keep him in one spot.

Looks realistic but doesn't scare the ducks in the least.
This guy scared the ducks for about 2 days. Once they figured it out they swim circles around him.

It’s ok but a bit misleading.
I’m hopeful this may help in keeping the ducks out of the pool. It’s a bit misleading the eyes don’t really glow they are just a sticker. I can see that the sticker will fall off With’in weeks due to elements. Overall it’s made well but they should have spent more time on the eyes.

Great Product
It arrived on time. I would agree that the eyes are not too realistic. Bright red stickers, but overall the product is great. sturdy and solid.

Sturdy structure
Bought it to deter the birds from my fishing dugout. It is extremely light but made of some sort of foam. We like it a lot! Works for what we wanted it for.
