Meter is great and exactly like the one I needed to replace (6 years old and wasn't registering the test strips anymore) - description is incorrect and states that a carrying case is included. There was no case in the box.

I bought this 4 months ago. I only need it when I "need it"; when I'm having a low blood sugar episode.The batteries work fine. I have been through the appropriate "set up" steps twice. However, it will NOT read the test strips, no matter what I do. I needed it a couple months ago, and tried and tried, but didn't have a lot of time, so gave up. I needed it again recently, and this time had the time to sit down and make sure everything was in order, and make sure all my steps were correct. It STILL would not give me any reading!I have used one of these (exact brand + same test strips) for years with no problems, but when the other died on me (probably batteries), I thought it would be easier to buy a new one. I was wrong.I tried to get resolution through my purchase with the many "doesn't work" steps, but it just circles back to the instructions each time. There appears to be no manufacturer to contact. I'm very disappointed, and will never purchase a needed medical item from Amazon again. It's better to purchase local where you can get assistance or return an item if needed.

Although the One Touch Ultra appears to be alright, the owner's manual is inconvenient due to its huge sheet that is difficult to read and there is an absence of a carrying case.
