Q: I'm don't want to use these for cleaning as much as applying things like tire dressing. Any idea how these would work for such things?

These are basically a much more affordable version of a Mr Clean magic sponge. It sounds like you are looking more for a craft sponge? I don't think these are what you're after. They work really well for getting grime off of tubs, tile, and metal though! I'm not sure they would be effective for trying to adhere something like paint..

As far as I know the sponge doesn’t have any cleaning agent or chemical
