Good sound, quality made. Should last a long time.
I have to say I like the sound of these mufflers. They're not exotic or super raspy, but they're not boring sounding like an OEM. I put them on my truck with a full dual 2.5" exhaust, no cats and stock cast exhaust manifolds. They're not super loud and don't drone like chambered mufflers (which is exactly what I wanted). Turbo mufflers really are the best flowing with a pretty much straight through design. There's no reason a car should be ridiculously loud for the sake of performance. I believe these are 409 stainless. They shouldn't rust much, but they're likely not going to last as long as a 304 muffler. For the price though, couldn't have done better for a welded stainless muffler that sounds good.

A Different Sound for a Different Crowd
I have owned several FlowMaster mufflers over the last 15 to 20 years. To some people the sound of the muffler is more important than the actual performance. I'll address both performance and sound. This Dynomax 17222 was a direct replacement for my 3.7 Liter 2008 Colorado.Upon installation I noticed reduced back pressure and slightly better performance, but with no increase in MPG's. The real difference is the sound of the Dynomax to a FlowMaster. When you floor the gas a Flowmaster will give you a loud vacuum cleaner sound. But with the Dynomax I hear a low grumble at low throttle and it stays that way when you floor the gas, this nice consistent low rumble.I like it on my truck. The price was great. Amazon shipped promptly. All good!

No for performance
Never would I buy again. Talk about serious back pressure and performance loss. Back pressure caused horrible acceleration from dead stop. 2 to 1 would throw into gear. Thought I had took out the transmission. Replaced with old mufflers. All problems went away.

Awesome!
What an awesome muffler! Just from looking at it you would think it would be louder. Installed this on my yukon denali and it sounds so good. It has a low rumble to it and if you get on the gas it sounds off but it's not overly loud. While cruising on the highway it doesn't have that annoying low pitched rumble that other performance mufflers have. It makes my denali sound the way it's supposed to sound. Get one and you won't be disappointed!

Large 3" inner core allows these bad boys to flow so well. Good solid quality construction.
Good solid quality construction. The inner flow tubes measures three inches on the 17222 muffler and necks reduce down to 2 1/2". These mufflers flow really well and I have seen some muffler charts on the internet showing flow rates of 101% of a straight pipe. The large 3" inner core and large spiralled perforations allow these mufflers to flow so well. Excellent exhaust technology from the guys at Dynomax. I will be installing these bad boys on my 475 hp 1994 Mustang GT really soon. I am currently running Ap Xlerator XS 1236 S/S mufflers. I have had these on for a little over a year now and seem to be getting really loud now. I should pick up some horsepower by switching to the Ultraflows. I just hope they don't blow out like the Xlerators.

Kind of quiet
Product is good only giving it 3stars because I thought they would have a lil more rumble to them.

Nice exhaust note on the truck...nice price for the muffler
The OEM muffler finally gave it up after 16 years of service. The internal baffles were rattling around and it was rusted at the back end. But it was always a little too quiet...and about 3 feet long...time for something sportier. Minimal adaptation included adding a length of straight pipe ahead of the muffler, but that was it. Vehicle this went on is a '99 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. Received many compliments from those who have heard the exhaust note.
