Good price and easy to use.
Bought some 1/16 inch welding rods and they worked great with this machine. Perfect for thin metal repair jobs. Simple to set up and adjust. I believe the 3/32 rods will work great too. The 1/16 rods burn very quickly. I highly recommend this machine for small projects due to its portability simplicity. I also ran it on a regular 20 amp outlet with no breaker issues.

Great Welder For Small Jobs
This little welder was a very effective for what I needed it to do. If you have any prior welding experience, it will make a difference. It welds just as good as a medium duty stick welder, with good penetration, assuming that you use the proper settings and welding rods. It worked really well for the task that I needed it for, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it again. This little welder is a powerhouse! Don't be afraid of purchasing one. Like I said, for small tasks, it works great. I'm sure bigger projects would require a bigger welder, but with this little guy, you never know, as it punches above it's own weight. Well worth the money!

Amazing little welder.
I'm so impressed with this little box. The first question I would have is, does it work? Well, I'm not an expert on welding but I picked up some 1/8" 7018 rods locally after getting the welder and after about 20 mins I was able to weld the 90 degree joint in the picture. That's a grand total of 20 mins time with a stick welder in my entire life so please ignore that the weld is ugly as sin and there is splatter. That is two passes but I was going more for strength here. The joint is super strong and you can see on the edge where it penetrated deeply into the metal. I think I should have probably used a thinner rod but again, first time using this type of welder.I have done some MIG welding in the past but wanted to pick up a stick welder and start learning as several people have told me that if you can weld stick you can weld anything. I'm glad I bought this welder. It's crazy how small and portable this is. A friend has a Lincoln welder that's the size of a toombstone and weighs like 200lbs. This thing can't weigh more than 10 lbs and its super portable. I can see just leaving it in the back of the truck all the time. I will now get a chuckle watching those guys with the huge trucks with generator/welder setups knowing I have a stick welder I can carry in one hand. I attached a photo of the welder next to a refreshing Texas brew so you can see how small it really is.Enough bragging, some details on the unit. The case is made out of a sold gauge of sheet metal. It feels sturdy and like it can take some banging around. The included cary strap is a nice touch. It comes with the electrode holder, the ground clamp and the strap. The cords are all pretty decent quality. It's a 110V unit so there is a standard power cord attached to the back. I know the pros often like the "twist" style electrode holder but the clamp style was better for me learning how to strike the arc. I got the rod stuck several times and being able to release the electrode by squeezing the clamp was really great.Unlike some other inexpensive welders I was looking at, the cords are removable. It's a nice feature that you could swap negative and positive for the few rods that require a reverse polarity. If you accidentally damaged a cord you could also replace it without opening the unit. Well done. While welding on the metal in the photo I ran it continuously for almost the whole 20 minutes without the unit going into thermal shutoff. There is a cooling fan that runs and stays on for a minute after shutting the unit off which probably prevents it from shutting down due to heat saturation. I live in Texas and it wasn't exactly a cool day when I was doing this.I'm super impressed with this little guy and will be telling all of my friends.

Excellent for what it can do.
As long as you fully understand the limitations of this welder, it is fantastic. It works, it makes clean welds, but it obviously lacks the power that larger units have.If you understand that you're going to be limited to 1/16, 7/64, and 3/32 rods, this thing can be an amazing tool. This welder works best with 6013.

Awesome , I did not think it would handle what i threw at it but it works great and better.
I took a chance at this little welder and it performed very well and did what i needed it to do. I really liked the compact size and everything was ready to go except the rods , but those i dint expect, lol. As far as for me , i would buy another one just to keep in the truck for those times when a weld is needed. This is a great machine and darn well worth it.

Although the price tag is high....
The price tag is MUCH cheaper than most stick welders out there. This price even beat harbor freight when I bought it (don't come for me if this is not the case now.) Works well and many people have asked me where I got it since they are not familiar with the brand.
