the fan works great. It was a perfect replacement and deivered quickly with no issues.

I purchased as a replacement for a very old ceiling Nutone exhaust fan motor of the 50s and 60s. While it fit and bolted up and plugged in great it was the wrong rotation, my mistake. I installed this motor so I did not return it. There was nothing wrong with the motor, it ran quiet with no issues. It was just wrong for my application.

This motor appears to be good quality and fit for my application. The problem is that this motor and most others on Amazon are counter clockwise rotating motors however most of the fan blades on Amazon are for clockwise application motors. In order to move the air up thru the vent, both motor and fan must be either CW or CCW. There is a notation on this Amazon product page and other motor pages that says " this is a frequently return item"...No wonder. I did find a correct fan blade at WW Grainger CCW rotation.

I was excited to receive the replacement motor for my ceiling fan, but unfortunately, it arrived defective. When I spun it manually, it made a clanking sound, which became even worse when I powered it on. You can see what I mean in the attached video. Based on the reviews, this motor seemed reliable, and it probably is for most people. However, my experience was different, as I ended up with a defective unit, so I’m giving it 1 star. I tried contacting the vendor for a replacement, but the process through Amazon was so confusing that I gave up and decided to return it instead.

All good. I was using it on a 70-year-old kitchen exhaust fan, Berne brand. Shaft size was correct and it mounted up nice. I had to reverse the rotation since Amazon didn't have the replacement blade. hate to take apart new stuff, but it works.

Too small for bathroom.

This was a perfect replacement for my fan. I replaced a 60 year old REDMOND motor that was very loud using the detailed drawing. Except for the straight plug on the new motor vs the angled plug on the old one (minor issue for me) it went smooth. I reused the existing mounting hardware. Just take note of which direction the plug faces on the mounting bracket. The new motor is much quieter and works perfectly.

It turns off more often than not which resulted to fire fighters coming in to our apartment because it caused smoke detectors to alarm. I can’t find other option though.
