I hate it when wall boxes are not installed plumb. It's touch to tell when crouched down on the floor, tracing a box. The built in levels eliminate that problem. Not much else to say... simple/elegant, and does what it needs to do.

I had to retrofit and double gang box in an awkward space and thought instead of standing on my head and trying to mark every thing out I would make a template. While doing research I ran across this one already pre made so I thought, what the heck. Worked pretty well. The only suggestion I would make is to add a mark halfway up the template and half way across. That way you can line up to measurements if you need to center on a small wall like I had to. Ruler, sharpie and 15 seconds solved that issue. The little rubber feet are a nice touch. You can also use holes to temporarily mount it in place if you want to just cut around it and remove template and blank at same time.

I am not one to buy lots of jigs and things as it is just one more thing to store. This is definitely an exception to the rule, It is small, convenient and allows for accurate cutouts and is a big time saver. The non-slip pads on the back really work and prevent it from moving while you are tracing around it. This is definitely one to keep in the toolbox.

Works well, rubber pads on can fall off if mistreated.

I wasn't sure I was ever going to use this it seemed kind of gimmicky before the purchase but I use this thing constantly to install low voltage wall boxes.

This one template will save you much time. I had one by EZ Cut brand that was more expensive. This one works just as well. The fluorescent blue color makes it easy to find amongst my other tools. I modified it to find L/R center, for my own convenience. (With pen)Plastic has been holding up well after about 20/30 cuts. I would highly recommend for single/double gain cut ins of Low or High Voltage boxes.
