Ozeri Precision Body Weight Scale (440 lbs Step-on Bath Scale) in Tempered Glass

I really like this scale and for the price, you really can't go wrong (at least with my current experience with it). It's sleek, lightweight and pretty reliable. You have to keep in mind though that you can't keep this location in a humid (or dust prone) environment so maybe people who like to keep their scales in the bathroom (or under their beds) may have to find another location to store it (so it's probably not the best idea to call this a bath scale) and it's not recommended to store it where you would store your chemicals since it states that the vapors can mess up the internal mechanics. It should be obvious that it's not going to work very well on soft or uneven surfaces like carpet, rugs, or some strange incline so make sure that you're using this scale on a hard, flat surface if you want it to be accurate.Also, if you're storing it in a location where you're not going to weigh yourself (like keeping it on a shelf and taking it out to use it) you have to disregard the first reading and go with the second one which could be a bit annoying to some people. The manual states that you also can't store this scale on its side, it has to be flat on the surface. I'm not sure if that's because it increases the risk of it falling and shattering or because it will mess up the mechanics of the scale, either way, I would avoid doing so.It comes with a CR2032 lithium battery but I'm still unsure how long the battery life is (although the scale does automatically shut off after 10 seconds after using so that's convenient) and turns on as soon as I place one foot on it (no tapping necessary!). The LED display is not lit but then again, I don't think many people weigh themselves in the dark. It has three types of readings: lbs, kg, and st which you can change between from a button on the bottom of the scale. It measures 11.8" x 11.8"The lightest weight it can take is 13.2 lbs so if you're thinking of using this to weigh your lighter pets, it might be a better idea to take your weight, pick up your pet and reweigh yourself, subtracting your first weigh-in to get the weight of your pet. And I'm sure it's pretty obvious to everyone but DO NOT use this scale if you just got out of the shower and have wet feet, you'll just increase your chances of slipping and falling and you'll have to explain to everyone that you broke your arm because you tried to use a scale after you made it slippery with your wet feet and you'll just be embarrassed.Edit: I have been using this scale for a year and 3 months and I still have not had to change the battery.

I really like my new scale. Shipping was faster than I expected so that was a lovely surprise.It’s a soft creamy light bluish white (whitish blue?) that looks like some type of translucent glass. It’s thin. Really, really thin like the Apple Air pad laptops you see advertised. Nice. Sleek. It really is pretty and would look good in the most modern bathroom to Deco to Contemporary to Classic to Southwestern (which is what mine is). It’s a timeless design.The battery (included) pops right into the slot on the bottom. I turned it over, set it on my kitchen floor, stepped on it and just about had a heart attack. I’d gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks. Nooooooo! So I read the directions. The directions say to set it down, step on it to “calibrate” it, step off, and then step back on again. You do that each time you move it which made sense after I thought about it.Ok. I took it to the bathroom to place it in its forever spot, positioned it exactly where I wanted it, stepped on it and I lost those 5 pounds! Yaaay! I stepped on it again just to make sure I wasn’t being messed with and yes, those 5 pounds were gone! Calibrated! Just like the instructions said. Fastest 5 pounds I’ve ever lost. They stayed lost and the scale has been wonderfully consistent since then.My eyesight isn’t great but this is easy to read and the numbers are nice looking. The scale stays on for about 10 seconds after you step off so that’s nice too. I also found that you can tap the top of the scale with your foot and it will turn off automatically. That’s nice for those of us who hate to waste battery energy. I recommend this scale highly. The quality is good, the price is nice and the look is lovely.

When I ordered this scale I did not expect anything amazing from it, because it is SO CHEAP... But I unboxed it and it actually looked quite nice. I have to say that I absolutely love the scale. You just step on it (do not even have to wake it with a "pre-step") and it tells you your weight. Some people complain that it gives varying readings each time they step on it, but I never had that problem (at least when I use common sense). When I move the scale, I make sure all four corner "stands" touch the floor, and then the scale reads perfectly EVERY SINGLE TIME. Some times, when I don't do a good job moving it on my slightly uneven floor, the four corner "stands" do not all touch the ground, and then the scale gives me different readings like other reviewers have stated. But that is not the scale's fault. That's my fault!!!The reason I took off one star from the scale, is because after using it for about 9 months the display did not turn on again. So I changed the battery, and suddenly all the scale displayed was "8". I could not do anything with the scale. The 8 would not disappear, no matter what I did. So I decided to contact Ozeri directly. They asked me to send them my Amazon invoice (which I simply took from my Amazon.com account) and a picture of the display reading "8". I emailed them those two things, and then received an email stating that they would send me a FREE new scale and a prepaid label to ship my non functional scale to them so they could assess and refurbish it. This entire email correspondence occurred within 36 hours. To each email, they responded really quickly. I certainly did not expect to get a new scale (nor did I ask for a new scale. I actually only asked if I had warranty, which I didn't)!!! Hopefully, the scale will last longer than 8 months, and I just ended up with a defect one the first time. I'll update this review in the future, if the new scale Ozeri is sending me gives me trouble again.
