Works on my Astro van! :)
I didn't do any dyno testing, however... My seat-of-the-pants perspective is this. Smoother idle, better acceleration, and more power at cruising speeds. The engine had an intermittent rough idle problem which was reduced. To be fair I also installed an ACCEL Super Coil purchased through (gasp!) ebay. I did NOT have high expectations. I did this mainly to install heavy-duty/high performance parts. My vehicle, a 1995 Chevy Astro van, had the factory parts on it. It should be noted that the connections were slightly corroded. This could have contributed to my idle problem and lower performance. As a retired Air Force Electronics Technician I did pay careful attention to a solid installation. I've always been happy with ACCEL's high quality. I was able to mitigate the correspondingly high price by shopping around (Thanks Amazon). I didn't do this solely for fuel economy, but due to an overall improvement in efficiency I take a little extra mileage. ;) Thank you for your time, Ammo Guy 8-) Aim small, miss small.

2 months later I'm dead on the side of the road..
I purchased the ignition module to go with the correct performance coil trying for every bit of fuel savings i could get and all I got was terrible performance and stalled dead on the side of RT-31 where I live having had to walk home praying I didn't throw away my stock OEM module. I re installed my OEM and never looked back .so Now I'm out the 60 dollars because I thought I got it from summit and totally forgot I got it from Amazon . remember it was ok for a month and it still sit in my tool box as a reminder..

Great for a little over a year.
I ordered this module as a replacement from the stock version I had on my 1988 Chevy Pickup, after it went bad. I took the old one out cleaned up the mess that was on the distributor, put on the new "heat sink grease" that came with it and put everything back together. It fired up right away. My truck ran good for a little over a year and I had to replace it again. This time I went to Napa auto parts and bought the OEM style and it's been there for around 3 years now. Maybe I got a bad one from Accel, don't know, but it didn't last like it should have.

Good replacement for a good price.
My MSD pro billet distributor has a bad habit of eating modules due to heat. Heatsink compound helps but it's just a matter of time. These seem to outlast most of the other brands.

Quick Easy Upgrade
Bought for an 80's Trans Am, essential part of an ignition upgrade!

Don't buy this junk!
This module performed as advertised. Then right after the 30 day warranty ran out, it put my vehicle on the back of a tow truck. Proper install (retired GM mechanic) proper voltage and proper ground, with new cap/rotor/wires/plugs. I used Accel products in the past on many of my hot rods and it worked good and lasted. With that in mind, and being installed into an optimized situation, I didn't think the 30 day warranty would be a problem. I was wrong, and out 62 bucks for the trouble. Like so much else, probably made in China. Don't waste your money. NAPA Echlin parts come with a 3 year warranty.

Had a hard time getting the vehicle to start with the Accel ignition controler. When I did the vacuum was lower. Next time I tried to start it it just wouldn't start. I installed the old one. Fired right up and vacuum was back up. It's not a performance ignition controler. It's junk.
