Loved it! Great characters. Great new series.
This is the first book in a great new series by River Savage. Were introduced to a bunch a hot SWAT guys but this story focuses on Liam Hetcherson aka Hetch and the girl he falls for named Liberty. The first time Hetch and Liberty meet face to face, the chemistry between them is hot and intense. Later that night they realize they've actually met before, but in a round about way that's kinda funny. When Liberty is hurt several days later, Hetch is one of the police officers to respond. His protective instincts kick in and he pushes his way into Liberty's life. She's got that judgmental hesitancy thing going on that our heroines sometimes do and it takes her a couple of pushes to give in.I like that we get to see Hetch and his team at work several times throughout the story. So in addition to the slow growing romance, we also get action and suspense. There's stuff going on with both Liberty's and Hetch's jobs which adds to the story. Hetch is a wonderful hero who I liked immediately. He's dealing with a loss close to his heart and handles it in a totally believable and realistic way. Liberty is stubborn and headstrong and thr perfect heroine for this story. She and Hetch were perfect together. This story is told from dual POVs and ends in a really good place. All of the characters are extremely likeabke and I can't wait to see who we'll get in the next book. I think it's set up fairly well for several potential couples and their stories. I thought this was a great start to the series and I highly recommend you read it.

Could have been better...
Liberty, a youth worker in charge of a group home for at risk teenage boys. Hetch, team leader for the local police departments S.W.A.T. unit, come together in this novel after laying old ghosts to rest.Liberty’s sleep routine has been disrupted by her mysterious neighbor. Due to the paper thin walls between their apartments the loud panty melting sex happening in her neighbors bedroom drives Liberty to put an end to it. On a one night stand gone wrong Liberty goes home with a gorgeous cop determined to end her dry spell, only to find out he’s the man-whore neighbor that has been keeping her up at night. Hetch is perplexed and undeniably drawn to the beautiful woman who keeps him on his toes with her feistiness. The relationship progresses as they both fall in love. That is, until Hetch gets called in to handle a hostage situation that brings back memories plunging him into the darkness he’s lived with for years. Only through tragedy and patience do Liberty and Hetch finally find their way back to each other. This is the only book by River Savage that I have read so far, but it was a good one. I really liked the character Hetch. He was charming, thoughtful, funny, yet also had a little darkness. Dimples. I need to make a category just for books whose heroes have dimples! Liberty however, I really didn’t care for. Sort of whiny, argumentative for seemingly no reason most of the time, and repeatedly made terrible decisions, which made it difficult to like her. The plot moved along nicely with a few big events spread out through the book. The supporting characters were great! I’m really looking forward to additions to this series, especially for Fox and Sterling.Check out more of my reviews on my blog romance2review.com

River does it again with the SWAT series!
Where do I begin with this book? When I heard River Savage was coming out with a SWAT themed series I was immediately on that train. Reading Hetch broke my heart and then was pieced together slowly. I don't think I have had such a strong reaction to a book in a long time and this had me thinking all day long until I could read again. The story centers around Hetch and Liberty. Hetch has his own darkness that he is trying to fight and keep sane. He is part of a SWAT team and struggles with the calls they go out on due to their nature. Liberty is this strong willed kick ass woman who definitely made Hetch work for her affection. There were times were I wanted to shake Liberty and tell her to just go for it all ready! The other half wanted me to beat Hetch for his actions. In all seriousness the plot had an underlining message to it and that is how suicide affects this left behind. Besides the attraction and love, this a story about someone who loses their loved one to it and just can't figure out why. They are lost in their own pain of trying to figure it out and lose all perspective now what is right in front of them. And it is ok to grieve for that lost soul and to be mad and upset but to let it out because you will never know why. This book definitely struck a cord with me and the story will stay with me for a long time.I loved Hetch and I am looking forward to more books on the other characters we met. Very emotional read but worth every page.

Can River write anything not good? Seriously
Can River write anything not good? Seriously? The world that she has weaved in the start of a brand new series, is addicting, compelling and damn right engrossing. Hetch and Liberty's journey takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, and it's one ride I am unsure I ever wanna get off.It was refreshing to see River step out from the mold of MC author and embrace something new, and you could tell she put her heart and soul into this book.It had your usual "River" heat, humor and emotional hit - yet was completely different to her previous books.Hetch - oh poor Hetch, you are one dirty as mofo, with a freaking heart of gold and Liberty, girl you owned me the second you started army crawling across the floor after #dildowallgate, that part had me howling with laughter!!The secondary characters were introduced well, and I am thoroughly excited to see each of the fellow SWAT brothers get their HEA! - especially Fox!Congratulations River, you deserved every single bit of success this book will bring you!

5 Hetch and Liberty Stars
River Savage is a 1-Click author for me. Hands down I have devoured and relished every book of hers thus far. When I saw that she had a SWAT Team series starting my Kindle heart skipped a beat and there may have been a celebratory fist pump.... Now, sometimes I have been disappointed when reading a much anticipated book. All the grand expectations in your head are not matched on the pages. Also, the first book in the series carries a huge responsibility for setting up all the characters and dynamics plus plots and drama for subsequent novels in that group. Did Ms Savage let me down? Nope. Did Ms Savage knock this one out of the ball park? Hell, yeah she did. And then some.I was captivated by this book and these characters from the very start. The SWAT Team guys are a diverse and intriguing group and I am itching for more on these gorgeous men.Hetch - Liam Hetcherson- is a layered, commanding, complex, cocky, alpha badass / good guy hero. Initially he comes across as a superficial player but there is so much going on underneath the surface.Liberty is a well written heroine. Her strengths and vulnerabilities are beautifully displayed. Do they both resist love? Yes they do but each of them had their valid reasons. The secondary characters are outstanding in this book. Payton, Mitch, all the SWAT guys, Kota....I want a book for everyone! Please. Pretty please with sugar on the top.Highly recommended for anyone who loves an Alpha hero and sassy heroine. Lots of sexy stuff and a really good plot that had twists I DID NOT see coming. This dips into quite dark themes at times but it all makes for a solid 5 star read.SPOILERSHEA? YesCheating? NoTriggers? Yes. Suicide.

I think I may of accidentally ignored the human race for 72 hours whoops!
I stumbled upon Hetch while suffering from a book hangover which is always a terrible time to buy a book. I was searching through Amazon plodding through with nothing catching my eye until I saw the cover of Hetch upon further investigation I decided to go for it.I made the right decision.Hetch is the story of a man suffering, a man so used to saving others he cant recognise its him who needs to be saved. He is flawed, but in that interesting way, the way only men in books an be. burying himself in work. drink and women Hetch is spiralling without even knowing it. That is till the woman in the apartment next door enters his life.Liberty is strong, she is efficient and she cares. She also is on a sabbatical, a man sabbatical. On a girls night out she meets a guy in a bar, He is smouldering, he is different and something pulls at her from every angle. The book is ridiculously sexy, with just the right amount of filth to plot ratio! The story evolves and evokes real emotion touching on topics that are real and heartfelt.I enjoyed this book so much that I then went to the River Savage's amazon page and purchased her entire Knights Rebels MC Series. I am now on book four and may now be single because I think I may of accidentally ignored the human race for 72 hours whoops! .

Thank heaven for HETCH & all his swagger. Awesome 5 star read
Couldn't wait for this book when I learned that River was writing a new series & knowing how much I already love her heros & heroines, I was super confident that this book was would deliver exactly the same & I wasn't disappointed. The feels through the entire book were fantastic. The sexual current literally poured of the pages in waves, mixed with hilarious humour, heart wrenching emotions & nail biting twists. Hetch delivered one helluva punch.Liberty. Hell I loved this bird. She was sexy, sassy & bloody funny. After a string of bad boyfriends she puts herself on a sex ban, deciding she is better off without a man in her life, but damn it to hell, whoever the hottie in Apartment 9 is, he is not making it easy. She doesn't want the man whore, but when she discovers his identity she cant stop thinking about him, about how her body reacts to him. Yup, she knows she is in trouble. Big Trouble.Liam aka Hetch. Shhhesh this guy has the ability to melt your panties off at 100 yards. His is fit & I mean Top Draw Eye Candy fit, ripped, tall, dirty mouth & omg bossy in a sexy way. Women fall at his feet, he is a sex god amongst mere mortals. He doesn't do love & he certainly doesn't do relationships. So why is it his hot as hell neighbour consumes every thought he has.Seriously I loved the way River developed the both Hetch & Liberty. The dual POV was fantastic & let you get deep into their hearts & minds. The story had some really unexpected moments, that put my heart through the ringer. It was like you were with them in their darkest moments, your heart on the line, bleeding & unsure if it could be put back together. Come the end I was emotionally drained yet smiling, yup River had nailed it again.I don't want to say too much more & it's impossible to write to much about the story line with out spoiling the whole experience of this read. Book 1 - 5 star's isn't enough. CAN NOT WAIT for book 2. So many S.W.A.T boys with stories to be told, seriously .. It's going to be a long wait.Download & enjoy, you will love it.

Merits more than five stars!
Reviewed by Claire Rose on behalf of KFF.I've read all this author works, but this one was an absolute joy to read. I loved it! If you are looking for a story that has emotions running high, has you laughing from start to finish and makes you fall in love with the characters, then this is the book for you.Hetch is the first book in the Men of Swat Series and I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. The cover alone had me more than intrigued. From about chapter two, I was laughing out loud so vigorously that it got to the point tears of joy were running down my face. But then those tears turned into heart-breaking soul wrenching ones. To say our leading man has a past is an understatement. His issue is what no person should go through, and to see a strong alpha man struggle with his emotions while trying to carry on with life was very eye opening for me. This made me realise there are people out there who are suffering from these events and need support and just love. I wanted to wrap my arms around my Kindle and hold on tight. My emotions took a big hit with to such an extreme that I wasn't even sure I was going to survive to the end.Hetch has a very strong character and I couldn’t help but adore him to pieces! He’s existing in life and saving lives is what he does; hence why he wears the badge. With a promotion up for grabs he goes all out to get it. Only there is a slight issue, he has to go through a psych evaluation to see how he is coping with everything.“I use s**, beer, and my job.”Thinking he's failed, he goes home where he meets a woman who brings out everything in him. In turn making him confused, he tries to it keep his feelings together.Liberty is a woman full of sass who also knows what she wants. When she meets her neighbour, she stays well away from him for reasons to be divulged. However, an indisputable connection there is. After an event that has Liberty in danger, she gives up and decides to give a relationship a go with him.“I missed you.”“You did?”“Specially missed this. Missed seeing you come to life.”Only while Hetch is on a job, things start to deteriorate as she tries to hold on with everything she has got.I could write so much more but since I don't want to give too much away, I’ll leave it here and let you make up your own minds about this incredibly well-developed read. What I will say is the story in itself shows loyalty, compassion and a true sense of family. This gave me exactly what I needed, too. All the characters who have big roles to play are beautifully described adding a profound depth. I have no doubt whatsoever that I’ll be rereading time and time again. Not one minute did I ever get bored; therefore my rating is five stars. Well done, Ms Savage. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
