Great Camera and Very Impressed Considering Price!
I just got the camera but must say I am immediately pleased with my purchase - and purchased another! Here is my perspective. I was in need of a replacement for First Alert cameras that I paid over $100 for a few years ago. Good hardware and still working on LAN but the software, which was less than impressive at purchase, quit working on WAN and I could no longer access the cameras remotely. I cant afford that price for replacements and have been hunting for cameras in the $25 price range for my budget. I had resigned that at this price range I would not have some of the features I had with the old cameras, but still wanted something around the house when I was away as I dont trust my neighborhood. At a great discount I purchased some 'indoor' cameras from BBuy made by te*d. Not sure if I can call them out directly but you get the idea. They have been returned. I decided to try this camera and compared to the big box purchase I would say a night and day difference in quality! So here finally is a brief list of 'better than others' satisfaction. 1. Setup. The setup was easy and the provided directions were clear, informative and straight forward. The competitors directions were lacking and I was able to complete setup simply because of my experience and intuition, this regarding steps I felt were important that were not documented. The Tethys Smart Cam documentation is great and I dont think I could offer an improvement. I will say that it will help to have a QR code scanner on your phone but is not necessary. 2. App Software. Wow, I really wanted to point out that I have tried other cameras simply because the Android app is INCREDIBLE compared to the big box store purchase! As I mentioned before I just got the camera but I have to say the options, interface, stability is a completely different class of product compared to the competition. 3. Hardware. I am so pleased that for the same amount of money I was able to get a camera that has the ability to pan, tilt, has an Ethernet connection and a slot for a micro SD memory card. The competitor product had none of those options - which I accepted I would not get at this price range. Plus the 1080 picture quality is great as well as the night vision - considering its a camera an all...... Motion detection has not been tested, but I can say the software options are so much more feature rich than the competition and I am looking forward to exploring rather than accepting an inferior product due to price. Finally, while this might not matter to most, I still like to be able to get behind my computer and access information about my product. The competition was all and only phone. I cant even use the internet to cancel my account. Much to my surprise after registration I was sent a HTTPS link to access my account and not only that, there was my camera! Incredible compared to the competition. I will admit my browser was not supported but I was provided a link to download PC app/software but have not tried it yet. As with the rest of the product I expect to be pleased. So in summary I can say if you are looking for a good quality camera with a clean and fun user interface you will not go wrong trying this product. Did I mention I got another? Happy shopping and hope this review helps others decide with some confidence.

TETHYS WIRELESS CAMERA
Over the years i have purchased 5 of these cameras, all different name brands and all are different levels of quality BUT all use the MIPC APP. I have NEVER had one issue with any even the cheapest version of this camera. I use these cameras to monitor my dog while at work. I have 4 other outdoor security cameras for the house that use a seperate app. This TEHYS camera has excellent video quality and fair sound. The sound is adjustable on the app speaker/mic and once you get the combination down your good to go. I can clearly hear everything going on in the house. Connecting to internet is a breeze if you have any tech skill at all. Its basic. Router password and scan the QR code. Simple. Adjusting the sound takes longer honestly. The MIPC APP is extremely reliable and includes an alarm function. Most do not. This is great if you have a pooch that may start whining. One or two beeps and they lay down (well mine does) you can add as many of these cameras as you want and select from the app. You CAN choose better image quality depending on your internet but AUTO 1080 is better than expected. For the price it is outstanding and there is NO SUBSCRIPTION to use the app, however a quick add will play before your cameras but honestly what doesnt have adds today thats free. If your considering a camera like this, this is the one to get. This is my second best out of the 5 i have. Next month it could be a cheaper version. Go for it now, well worth it. I dislike amazons brown bags for shipping. Worthless. The old boxes made me happy to pay my prime membership. Delivery was on time Grab this camera if you expect a inexpensive price with quality video and decent sound. THIS IS NOT A 3000$ security system, but for the price OUTSTANDING .There is also two way talk but remember there is a 2 second delay so use it with common sense snd go slow. Camera is also well built compared to others. I have a 150$ camera that is name brand and very very similar to this camera but does not use the MIPC APP so it sits in a shoe box while i use these cameras that do work on MIPC APP and for the price the tethys is better.. The quality difference is marginal TETHYS 👍🔥

Nearly Perfect Camera
I bought this camera to see what was walking around in my attic so I could properly deal with the problem. After I confirmed a racoon was running around over my bedroom ceiling at night, I trapped and released it. Once that was done I really had no use for this camera so I figured I could use it to watch the front of my house while I was at work by leaving it on the window sill of the room facing the street. Now for my take on the camera. It is well built and very easy to set up/use. You simply download the App and get the camera on your wifi network so you can view it on a phone, tablet, or computer. It has paid cloud storage capability or onboard mini SD card storage. Of course, you can view things in real time. The resolution is outstanding as is the night vision capability. There is a time and date stamp as well. The camera also has the capability to swivel right and left as well as up and down. You can also zoom in on small areas. I would say just 10 years ago you would have to pay thousands of dollars to get the kind of features you get here for very little money. So why not 5 stars? After I left it on my window sill for a few hours I decided to check on it to see how hot the circuit board was getting. Another camera review on Amazon alerted me to the heat issue with many cameras. The reviewer of the other camera returned his camera because the legal agreement that came with the device indicated that the camera user released the manufacturer/seller from liability for any and all damages incurred by using the camera. The reviewer basically said the camera can cause your house to burn to the ground and you would be forced to take a total loss. I disposed of the packaging and legal disclaimer that came with this camera so I am not sure how it is worded. The bottom line is that the cameras at this price point are manufactured/distributed by sort of fly by night organizations based overseas so even if you could bring a claim against them for any damages it is unlikely you will ever collect anything. YOU need to be smart about this and take a calculated risk. Back to the camera now. The base where the circuit board is located gets a little more warm than what I would say is lukewarm. It does not get hot enough to burn/ignite wood or fabric but I just do not trust such low cost electronics to stay constantly powered. There is a possibility with all electronics of a malfunction and short that causes an electrical fire. Therefore, I discontinued use after just a few hours. The camera served the purpose for which it was purchased so I am happy with it. If you need a camera for permanent surveillance I would not recommend any low cost camera. You are best off spending the money to purchase a professional grade of camera that is very unlikely to cause a fire and is backed by a fully warranty by a reputable manufacturer that will stand behind the product and assume liability for any damages it may cause.

Works awesome with Alexa.
The camera is amazing for the price! The feed is nearly live with only a few MS delays. I find that impressive! I plan on buying at least another one more for sure. For the price and the quality you just can't go wrong. * Works awesome with Alexa. Just asl Alexa to show the camera live on your Echo show for a quick way to see what is happening. Once you ask Alexa will show your camera immediately. You even could ask Alexa to turn left or right in accordance with your instructions. * Speaker output works fine, it's quiet at first but you can adjust the volume in settings. * Microphone is the same, quiet at first, adjust the volume in settings. * The video can be stored either on a micro sd card or they have a cloud service that you can sub too. * The head does not fully rotate past 340⁰ * Motion detection is very sensitive but makes a funny sound when is activated in alarm mode. * Setup was simple (just don't try WIFI, plug it into the router, it will setup automatically, then just unplug it from the router and put it where you want it) The app might be a little confusing for anyone afraid of a smartphone. But you could download as well from the web to your pc or laptop. * Plus the 1080 picture quality is great as well as the night vision - * Controlling the camera has very little lag time was is fine. * Regarding the cloud if you feal or having your recording up there you could purchase A Cloud Box IP Camera Recording Storage Device, Compatible with Ebitcam MIPC Camera ( the best I tried that works as integrated with this camera is the VIMTAG vimtag s1 cloud storage box ). It will be paid by itself in a few months of use. * SD card recording is great to use an SD card. The card will be formatted and only visible using an app called SDtool from the MIPC website. Just install it and removed the SD card from the camera and place it in the reader on your PC or laptop and the application will transfer everything to the folder that you previously have assigned for. ONLY the recordings are useful if you use this app ( is free and easy to use. * Quality of the video could be set by the APP. * Notice that other applications could be used as well to manage the camera. *-+ Plus has a 1-year warranty. Fast reply from the merchant and warranty activated by email Maybe I forgetting other things to review. The final review is a great camera for the price and an awesome value as well. Enjoy it :) Even actually I have an issue with the camera switching back from the color camera to white/back vision still a great camera and ask for a replacement.

Incredibly easy to setup and very versatile
This webcam has features some other much more expensive cameras I've had in the past, such as Pan/Tilt/Wide view rotate, Invert picture, local record (SD chip purchased separately) and also cloud record (Separate Subscription) features. Although, the SD chip and Cloud Record subscription is not required for realtime operation of this camera out of the box. The video is very clear in IR and normal light. There are two modes to setup the camera: 1. WIFI Connection. 2. Ethernet Connection. I initially purchased two of these cameras. The instruction manual has you download the needed supporting App (MIPC) and create an account making sure your smartphone is on your home's 2.4gHz WIFI network (2.4gHz network required. Manual is clear about that). Also, typically, WIFI devices that interact with each other must be on the same network so if you intend to use this camera with Alexa Show do some research on that or just eliminate that possible complication by insuring the cameras and Alexa are going to be on the same 2.4gHz WIFI network. The first camera I setup using the WIFI Connection mode. Using the smartphone I have, iPhone, manual included and voice commands from the camera itself, I was good to go in minutes. The second camera I used the Ethernet (wired) connection. It was straight forward and as expected a bit more "techy". I consider my home networking skills "average" and expect if I can do it most can. It took maybe 10 minutes to successfully configure. I decided that in the future, I might want both cameras on ethernet wired connections so again using the app I very easily setup the ethernet information on one, and the WIFI information on the other. All in all very good supporting app and a lot of features for the price point. I was so impressed I bought a third camera. One thing to note that is quite important if you use WIFI mode to setup the camera make sure your smartphone and the camera is within 10cm (approximately 3-4 inches) of your home router. For some home users this may be difficult to do because of the type (Combination Cable modem/router) and location of your router which may be in a difficult location and may not be accessible. Because the Ethernet Connection mode was so easy I didn't take away any stars. Definitely a nice product!

Great cameras but
These are great security cameras, I have two of them. Great picture, good night vision. Best of all, they don’t require hardly any invasive permissions to use the MPIC app! These work well with a good WiFi signal, if WiFi is weak or you are installing the device far from the router like in the garage, I would use a more expensive security cam like Ring or something. I find the Ring picks up a WiFi signal better. Obvious advantages of this cheaper Tethys security cam is the much cheaper price and I don’t have to pay $3.00 a month to view recorded footage. I can also move the lens all the way up, down and side to side for a much wider field of vision from the mobile app. The Ring does not do this. It’s a great camera so far. I’ve had my other one for a year and a half now and it still works great. We use them to make sure the dogs are ok when we aren’t home. UPDATE: September 8, 2020 We use these cameras for our dogs. One of them went doo doo on the floor so when we checked the camera just curious as to who it was it didn’t even record the event. So that’s twice this has happened and it’s so disappointing when you think you have access to video but you don’t. Since motion recording isn’t so reliable I changed it to continuous recording. Also the app doesn’t explain much, I wish it had descriptions by some of the functions. UPDATE September 23, 2020 These are good cameras. Only thing is on night vision it makes a click when it switches to night vision and the red light turns on. My thing is this can alert intruders who can easily steal the camera. Like it’s saying, “hey here I am!” I put tape over the red light but when doing that night vision doesn’t work. UPDATE: September 29, 2020 So the app can be a little annoying. I’ve gone though recorded videos where it shows motion all the way through the 30 minute video but when I waste my time and scroll through there isn’t any motion. I’m trying to figure out if it’s picking up on noise. I have a camera set by an air filter which makes noise all day so I tried to turn off the record sound as motion option but it doesn’t seem to have that option. The app doesn’t explain some of the more confusing functions so idk.

Nice For The Price (Updated)
I picked up three of these for myself and a friend as an inexpensive home security supplement. I took some fiddling to get it to work with my network wirelessly, but using the included LAN cable made it simpler (shoutout to reviewer Tiffany Arce for the tip). There is a small lag in home with the audio, both transmitting and receiving, and the quality reminds me of a drive-through, but overall I'm actually very impressed with this low-cost camera. It comes packed with a USB power cable, LAN cable, and mount, with in app options to flip the image if you decide to mount this upside down on a ceiling. The camera range is great, and in good lighting detected things fairly well. Also very please with the night vision, though beware, it uses and IR light to illuminate, so placing it near a window at night will render the feature useless since the glass will reflect the light back making outside objects impossible to see. As I learn to use this I will consider updating this review. I pan to test this with my Fire 10 Tablet, and may make some small modifications to help with some of the issues other reviewers have remarked about (such as excessive wind noises when outside). For what I've been able to get from this on day 1 I can say this is a great deal. Will update if longevity proves to be an issue. As an aside, I question the need for some of the permissions the MPIC App (for use with these cameras) need on my phone. I'm really vigilant about privacy, and some of them have me worried. Another concern about the app is that it has some translation issues, which is a minor complaint, and this isn't the first time a product from China had some Engrish in it. Screenshot included. As I said, a minor issue. Update (June 10th 2020): A couple of months ago this camera started acting up. I don't know if it was a software or firmware update, but live streaming is choppy, and recording barely works. If I try recording things freeze up, and what parts move have heavy artifacts, turning an HD or even standard definition video into a series of confusing blurry squares. Retrieving recording from devices takes extra steps and questionable software, even to transfer from a memory card to PC. The apps also frequently disconnect, causing the software to drop the camera connection and return to the menu. Overall this camera turned out to be garbage. Do yourselves a favor and spend a little extra on something that reliably works.

The Camera's are decent - The Software is OK - BUT
Overall I am satisfied with the Security Cameras The Quality is very reasonable The Software is decent, but could use a few optimizations. The one issue that concerns me... The Cameras (2 that I purchased) connect to an External IP / Network address located in Canada.... The Host Provider is "" OVH Hosting, Inc """ If I block those IP network external IP addresses, from being accessed on my home network the cameras stop working, and cannot be used. I looked up the IP addresses that both cameras, externally connect to Here are the IP address Both point to a College In Canada.. I tried blocking the External IP addresses they connect to. Camera's stop working I tried blocking the TCP/IP ports they connect by Camera's stop working IP address Camera #1 connects to 54.39.49.174 ---- IP Port Number 4024 54.39.49.174 ---- IP Port Number 4001 IP address Camera #2 connects to 54.39.133.18 ---- IP Port Number 7024 54.39.133.18 ---- IP Port Number 7001 IP address Lookup Info Source: whois.arin.netIP Address: 54.39.49.174 Name: SD-1G-BHS-T06G Handle: NET-54-39-48-0-1 Registration Date: 1/12/18 Range: 54.39.48.0-54.39.51.255 Org: OVH Hosting, Inc. Funziona con App Mipc
