Pricing Information and Product Information is Very Wrong.
For probably the last 10 years I have almost exclusively eaten 2 different chips. This is the one I eat most often. I love cheese and I don't like spicey and Frito Lay made these perfectly for my taste. That being said, I will never buy this particular deal again. The product description and pricing information is erroneous. The header on the product page reads "Ruffles Potato Chips, Cheddar Sour Cream, 36 Ounce (Pack of 4)". The price is listed as $38.49, $0.27 per Ounce. $0.27 per Ounce is an excellent price. I did the math to check it. Four 36 oz. bags = 144 ounces total. $38.49/144 ounces = $0.27 per ounce.I checked the information under the "Compare with similar items" section and it matched the write-up at the top of the page. I checked the picture to make sure the bags were 36 ounces because that is quite a large bag. There was only one picture and the net wt. had been removed.I am a 78 year old who has been house-bound by the ravages of severe arthritis so all of my shopping, both local and long distance is done on the internet. My income is a small monthly Social Security check. That is why I'm so careful about what I pay for everything. This purchase was a luxury so I was especially careful. This was during the October Prime Days and seemed to be a very nice bargain.Today the package was delivered and while I was waiting for my neighbor to come over and bring it in (my mail carrier left it in the yard), I realized that it wasn't big enough to hold what I had ordered. I opened it and pulled out one of the bags. It was 8 oz.!!! In other words, not only were the individual bags not 36 oz., the entire package was only 32 ounces!!! Doing the math, $38.49/32 ounces - $1.20 per ounce. Definitely not a bargain.I thought that was the worst of it until I looked at the invoice and discovered I was actually billed $42.99 (The product page still says $38.49). So I actually paid $1.32 per ounce. And no, it isn't a huge tax on food because my state only taxes consumables at 1%.The incorrect information in the product description definitely needs to be amended.
