Mathematical Games, Abstract Games (Dover Math Games & Puzzles)

A great collection of abstract games that can be played with equipment from other games
This is one of the best collections of abstract games published so far. If you have a Reversi set or an Abalone set, you may find new uses for them using this book. Each game gets a clear description of its rules and a few game diagrams illustrate practical play. My only issue with the Kindle edition is that I could not enlarge some of these diagrams. Other than that, everything worked great.

Fun collection of games
This is a fun collection of games. Print out the boards from the author's web site, use counting chips or coins as pieces and you have over a dozen strategy games that can keep you occupied for a very long time.I have the paperback version, not the kindle version.

Kindle Edition is Awful
This is a review of the Kindle edition only. The book looks good, and I will be buying the print edition. The Kindle edition has no active table of contents, which I always find annoying, but my major complaint is that it omits many of the diagrams. The book is concerned with unfamiliar games. How can one hope to understand them without pictures of the board?

Excellent for Learning
I use this book when I'm trying to learn a new programming language. Makes for a great conversation, too, when you're bored and only have a piece of paper and a pencil. Teaching someone Semaphore or figuring out tricks really helps with logical thinking.

Un peu décevant
Ce livre reprend des jeux assez connus et en ajoute qquns issus des auteurs.Néanmoins, rien de très folichon mais qques idées à ne pas oublier.Néanmoins, les néophytes y trouveront de la matière.
