Regretting not spending extra for 3M tape
I had 3M anti-skid tape on my stairs for about 4 years. Easy install, no problems. I stripped and re-stained my stairs and replaced the tape. This time, used Gator grip as it was less expensive. I applied using the same methods as the 3M tape: clean surface, applied edge adhesive, and used a roller to flatten and adhere to the stairs. Everything looked fantastic forma few days, then, our first rain. The tape appears to have absorbed the water, although, that shouldn't be possible. It's day 7 now and the tape has formed large bubbles on all stairs.Tape is useless. Need to pull it off and replace it with 3M tape. Spend the extra money on 3M and avoid the extra work of pulling up this garbage and going through the cleaning and applying new tape.Couldn't be more disappointed with this product, it's absolute garbage.

mixed results with this
I've used this gator tape for many old wooden steps. Sometimes it works great and sticks and others not so much. To get the best results, you really want to clean the steps well and dry them before hand. It might also be good to sand off finish to get down to the wood before otherwise the glue will not stick. Also, being in the Northwest with a lot of moisture in the air doesn't help with the glue adhesion. These work great until the glue starts to come up. Most recently, I took to stapling along the edges also and that seemed to help in some cases.

Tape manufacturer is cutting corners... CHINZY!
Haven't applied the product, yet, but the company making it is advertised for 60 feet length, and they supplied an inch short... I planned a walkway for 24 inch strips; bought a "60 feet" roll and cut strips EXACTLY 24 inches long [using the one-inch lines on the paper side]... I ended up with 29 two-foot strips and one twenty-three inch strip,... having planned on 30 strips... Shame on the Incom Manufacturing Group for selling short tape... Truly chinzy on their part... I must now purchase a "15 feet" roll to complete my walkway.

Your feet will not slip at all
I have a motorcycle that has a highway bar on it, rather than foot pegs, and the bar was smooth so my feet wouldn't stay in place without me working to keep them there. I purchased this product knowing that it is a safety tape, but knowing that the grip factor would be really good.I cut some small pieces to wrap around my bar and after it was done, I can put my feet up and not have to work to keep them on the bar. The traction provided from the tape is like glue as it is effortless to keep my feet from moving. For any item that you need to keep your feet from moving, use this tape as it works amazing. I do believe there are other sizes available for the width, but it is easy to put strips side by side without any gaps or overlap.

Try something else or different materials. This doesn't stay.
I went through major prep to add this to my stairs last weekend. By Wednesday half were gone or had parts of it missing. Next time im using the anti slip paint or something that will last. Way too expensive to last only a few days.

indoor use seems best
very pricey when it does not stick. I used mine on clean wood steps outdoors. seemed like it worked until it got cold. The tape lifted and won't stick again once that happens. I had to staple it to the wood, Good thing it is at a property that we don;t go to alot. Does not look good at all.
