Beautiful little plants
Cute little plants, one was damaged upon delivery as you may tell from the picture. Things happen.. Will continue to purchase from Costa.

Healthy mixture of succulents
Overall, Iโm very satisfied with my six little plants. One is wilting a bit, but I think itโs from being cramped in a box during delivery. The other five are healthy and already perking up. I also received a variety of plants. I transplanted them the day after I received them.

3 plants not good
Most of these plants were great, however 3 of them did not survive. One was a rose type cactus and the other two were very weak looking succulants. Otherwise the rest were great!

First six infested with bugs. Second six overwatered.
I have ordered succulents online from several companies, but I had a couple of bad experiences with one of my favorites, so I decided to take a chance on Costa Farms. I knew the plants would be tiny, which is ok...but at least one looked more like a pup that had been hastily yanked from the parent plant, and appeared more as half of a plant rather than a whole plant. Still, I could work with that. I know that these succulents go through rough treatment in shipping, so I am also prepared for the possibility of bruised and beaten plants (some of which these were). But that's the risk of ordering online. Half of the plants were dry and the other half were soaked. The dealbreaker for me was BUGS. When I pulled the first plant out of the shipping box, the bugs came out with it. In FORCE. They were tiiiiiiiny, fast-moving insects (they looked like white mites of some sort but not mealybugs--however, I'm not yet an expert at identifying the differences). What I do know is that there should be no creatures of any sort enjoying existence at the expense of plants that I paid for. (And they were a bit on the pricey side.) I tried and tried to get photos of the bugs, but they were so tiny and fast that I didn't succeed. I should have taken a video, maybe. But...I am disgusted. I contacted Amazon, following the directions from Costa Farms, and requested a replacement, so we will see if that gets shipped, and without extra passengers. I am really dreading the pricier succulent from Costa (Whale Fin Sansevieria) that should arrive in a couple of days. I know I should have taken the more cautious approach with a new company, but I just got too excited to wait (this was, of course, ordered before the arrival of the bug infested plants). So if the Whale Fin fails and the replacement tinies (should they be shipped) are unhealthy, that's it for me and Costa Farms. Also, lesson learned: open the box and do initial inspection outside, awayyyy from your house if at all possible. At this point, I am going to be walking them to the next block over and opening them on the street (we live in a cul-de-sac) to lessen my stress that any bugs will find their way to my backyard plants or, far worse, my indoor succulents. I'm just so sad about this! What a huge bummer! Update: the Whale Fin failed, but that's for a different review. The six little replacements, which did indeed ship, also failed. I did remember to open them outside this time. It looked like they had drowned before I even opened the box. NOT because of transit; the box was totally intact and dry, as was all of the paper packing. I met the UPS delivery driver at the door and received my package directly from their hands. I'm not sure who is responsible for packaging Costa plants, but please stop drowning these fragile 2-inch plantlets. Why would you give these little would-be beauties so much water, then tightly package them without giving them any time to dry? I understand that you don't want them to dry and die on their journey, but succulents are far more tolerant of not receiving water than they are of a full pre-packing soak. Most of them were so fragile and wet that they fell apart in my hand. You can see in one of my photos how oversaturated the root system was for that plant. Another photo shows black roots. They are not dark because they are covered in dirt; I worked on this one for a while in search of healthy roots. Finding none, I was forced to throw it away. Similar situation for all. In a couple of cases, just touching the plants caused leaves to fall. I was left with what looked like half or a third of a plant, and a roughly treated one, at that. So disappointing, especially since, from what I could tell (identifying succulents missing most of their leaves is tough), there was some variety among the six, including a couple that I don't already have. On the other hand, there were two that looked like offsets (for example, the aloe in my second order and the haworthia fasciata in the second order). They came with just a few leaves each.

Not enough variety
Plants arrived safely, with a heating pack due to cold weather. They appear healthy but some need immediate repotting. Disappointed in the variety, with 4 of 6 being similar, same rosette shape and gray green color. Packaging was a little odd, with the plants and packing material wrapped very tightly into a cube. Once I got the cellophane off, plants fell out of their pots. I'm keeping since the plants aren't damaged, but I won't order this again due to lack of variety

Quality Purchase
I ordered the six pack of the costa farms mini succulents and I am honestly pretty happy with my purchase. The plants are smaller but a fair size for the price and they looked exactly like the plants that are advertised. They were packaged carefully and all showed up looking very healthy with a full set of roots in tact. The people that are handing these plants are doing everything right and I will definitely order from them again.

of the assortments i bought, this set was the best
Having never bought plants by mail (who even knew there was such a thing ???) I was skeptical. I had bought a few succulents from an exotic plant store down the street and fell in love with them, and was looking for some pots, when i saw live plants on Amazon. The reviews said yes this works and so i decided to try. I bought three different sets of succulents from three different sellers the same day, and by far this set from COSTA FARMS was the best. No comparison, not even close. The pots are teeny tiny and cute, but the PLANTS in the pots were big and healthy. The plants are even bigger than the plants from another set i bought which had pots twice the size. Also the packaging for shipping was better than the other two sets. Be careful when you unwrap and remove the shredded paper, i was so excited to get the plants i was a bit too enthusiastic pulling off the shredded packing paper, so do it slowly and carefully. Have a soft small paint brush to sweep off the dirt from the leaves. All of these arrived healthy and intact. I am so excited and happy and will definitely buy from this seller again. Great variety, so many different types, including some i had not seen before even at the "exotic plants" store down the street.
