Compact, with amazing sound - lots of possibilities.
Great set for desktop practice. I have them doubling as my PC speakers. The great value I get from these is due to the combination I can make for practice. I have wired the input to my PC sound, and then I have my guitar plugged in normally. The auxiliary input volume is controlled by whatever you connect into it, in my case my PC, but you can connect smart phones or MP3 players. What this allows me do do is to play backing tracks, drum loops and other great stuff and jam away while keeping full control of the volume on my guitar controllable independently of the auxiliary input, which is great for pumping up solos and so on. The sound in the speakers is really clean and takes on the different guitar pickups well. The Gain/Overdrive features are really well made and the distortion you get out keeps stable. Seems to fit most of my needs since I am mostly a Blues/Rock/Clean sound type of player. I could not recommend this for people looking for huge distortion, but these are great all rounders. The delay feature works really well. I kind of regret that it cannot be configured more, but it is good enough having both volume and time controls. You can play with it to give the impression of some reverb or crank the timing for neat delay hits. Probably the least noticeable feature is the equalizer. I am no expert, but I think this one concentrates mostly on the mid-ranges and thus I can't hear huge differences on the range. It is, however, functional. As for the wattage, don't be fooled. This is definitely not meant to power parties, but will fill small sized rooms easily (bedroom size). For kicks I cranked up the volume and gain with the overdrive and they did work pretty well. With humbuckers or combined coils I got no noise when cranking up the volume all the way up without the overdrive active. The overdrive will give you some noise, but nothing out of the ordinary for an overdrive. All in all, probably the best possible setup for a starter or training setup. You get all the basics covered in respect to configuration and effects giving you a wide range of options for a very compact setup.

Top of its class
I bought the extension pack with AC adaptor so my review reflects the entire package. First I bought this amp based on all the glowing reviews. I wanted something that would sit on the end table in my den and not take up much room but that did not suck eggs when it came to sound. Over the past 23 years of playing guitar on and off I have had several small battery powered amps and they were just terrible, making practice more annoying than productive. Much to my surprise this amp not only is not terrible is sounds quit pleasant. The delay option instead of a reverb is actually very nice. With the delay set low it sounds more like reverb, crank it up and you have some digital delay giving excellent dynamic to what is a surprisingly good sounding amp. I have tried this amp with a few different guitars and to be honest these really small amps like this sound much better when they have a humbucker equipped guitar plugged into them. This sits nicely on my end table with plenty of room for my drinks, snacks and tablet and gives me quick access to an amp without having to uncover one of my other amps. The volume produced is plenty for one room practice and for those with youngsters looking to play guitar it is still loud enough to be heard through the house if you crank it up all the way. The tone knob (isf) allows for extra dynamics when trying to dial in you preferred sound. There is an MP3 jack for plugging you phone or mp3 player into and with the extended cabinet plugged in it actually sounds quite good for listening to music. There is also a headphone jack for private practice or listening to music. With the MP3 jack this allows the user to play along with their favorite songs. My only concern is durability. This is a very well made item for what it is but it is still plastic with a spring loaded on off switch. This is a legitimate piece of gear but I'm not sure about day in day out use so I will be the guinea pig..

Great little portable practice amp for the serious guitarist. Includes power adapter and extra powered speaker
OK, I did a review on the single cabinet Fly3 that I bought for our lead guitarist. We then got this for another guitarist who has a small apartment on 38th St. in NYC and can't play loud. We had a bigger budget so we sprang for the combo, Similar review :It is the best sounding of all the mini amps by far. Pro- completely portable, battery operated, sounds good, special effects that work (clean, overdrive, shape, delay with level and delay time), not a toy, output for headphone or recording. It also has a line in to play from an iPhone type source. For the basic Fly3, not the 3Pak combo I complained that the only drawback was it didn't come with an AC adapter and you couldn't use a generic because of the odd (6.5v) voltage. This one comes with the adapter. They recommend rechargeable batteries when not plugging it in. It takes 6 AA's. With the Combo you get the charger plus another 3 watt powered cabinet. With that you can use it as a small stereo system from your iPhone or similar device when you aren't playing guitar through it.

This amp got me free beers. Mileage may vary.
So I'll preface my review with this: I really actually got a beer for playing outside of my apartment complex with this amp. It was pretty delicious. I was thinking about battery powered amplifiers for probably a month or so because I mostly have electric guitars. I like to play outside rather than in my room sometimes so I can get fresh air. I already owned a Line 6 Flextone 2(2 heavy 2 move) prior to purchasing this amp, so I really wanted to get something that would sound at least as satisfying. I saw this at the top of the list as far as toy amps go. So I pulled the trigger. She sounds pretty nice. The cleans are pretty sweet and vocal, which is to be expected from an amp like this. The real kicker was the distortion. It's no halfstack, but the full gain sound was pretty ballsy. I'm willing to bet a nice pedal would make this amp djent, but even without a pedal I got pretty good variation in distorted tones, with a 80's trash tone being the most I could get. The ISF function is pretty good too. On full UK, I could draw out some smooth jazz sounds, while full US gave me some jangle. For reference, I ran three guitars through it while messing around: -SBMM JP100D -Ibanez S5EX1(with Duncan's) -Carvin DC727 The Ibby was very throaty, which lent itself to some pretty mean distortion while the SBMM was very smooth. The seven strong was the kicker for me. It didn't clip while I bashed that low b. Basically, it's a neat toy. Buy it. You'll like it. EdIt: Some things to know. I bought it with the cab. the distortion sound better with the cab than without. Keep that in mind when deciding whether to buy.

Good bang for your buck.
Best money I've spent in quite a while. Superior tones and sound quality. I'd definitely buy it again.

Buy It!
I haven't had much time to really play this amp, but I was instantly impressed with both the clean and overdrive tones. As somewhat of a "tube amp purist", all I can say is; at $100 this is a "no-brainer"! Tiny size, great and versatile tones, MP3 line-in, headphone line-out, delay.... plus an extension cabinet? AC or battery powered. What a great, cool, little, amp. Don't hesitate to buy this as a practice, take along, play anywhere, gem. It also gets impressive volume for its size.

Not bad, clear tone, but needs 2x power
This would be perfect it it put out 10w instead of the 6. Nice size, good flexibility in controls. Buy the package deal. Love the AA power. I’d agree w this other review “ This amp is OK but I'm not real impressed. It has gain and reverb sound affects but it isn't very loud at all so I don't think I would recommend it. The one thing I do like is it is very easily portable.”

Highly Recommend
I was not expecting the quality or volume of sound this puts out. For the money, speaker size, and wattage - this thing rocks. I use it for practice. Sound is clear and relatively rich.

Amazing little thing
Great sound, great quality. I bought thhis amplifier to play my harmonica but I also use it as speakers for my laptop and it sounds way better than many PC speakers in the market.

Amazing Amp!
This is an amazing little amp with big sound for it's size! This is perfect for practicing or even a small venue! I was very pleased when I used it to find that it has a rich, clear sound, not tinny like other small practice amps! This amp system is versatile and has nice features for such a small package! If you need a small amp that is easily portable and offers a lot of sound, you can't do any better than this! Add the FLY 3 Acoustic Combo and you have everything you need!

Kein Spielzeug...
