Nuvo Iron PRO8 (PRO 8) Gate Frame, 8 Standard Fence Board Wide x 6’ Long, Black, 6 Foot

It is a very solid and well made kit. However it is not easy to build. It does take two people to build and lots of cursing will be involved. The gate can be shortened or widened as needed if you have the ability to cut top and bottom rails and drill new holes. The boards can be vertical or horizontal. The 1 inch recommended boards are a very tight fit. I simply used a small piece of wood as a wedge to widen the gap so I could get each board in. Once I figured that out assembly was a breeze. You don't have to miter the edges of the boards. Hammer in your wedge block, slide in your board and hammer your wedge over to make room for the next board. Repeat till the end. They do fit. I did a horizontal gate and used plastic spacers to leave a half inch gap between boards. The gate is extremely heavy once built and will require two people to move. Each gate took about two hours to build. I would recommend using metal posts to hang the gate on as they are very heavy once assembled.

Don’t buy this gate unless you want to be frustrated beyond belief. We bought it because we loved the look but sadly didn’t read the reviews first (which is on us obviously). We’ve worked on it for the past three nights for a couple hours each and cannot get the last corner piece to match up to put the bolts in. After reading the reviews, we believe our problem is the wood we bought (1x6”x6’) is too wide, just like some the reviews have said. Don’t know if we actually try again or just scrap it and a different route.

Save yourself time and get some 5/8" thick ridge and valley fence pickets. Since the frame slots tend to bend inward standard 1x6 fence boards (3/4" thick) are a bit too thick. Ridge and valley type boards should also prevent/minimize warp. Depending on the frame piece it may seem a bit loose or just right. However, once you tighten the carriage bolts on the frame all the boards achieve a secure fit. The frame rights itself pretty well so there is no noticeable sag. The frame feels nice and smooth with rounded edges. Quality end result that makes your entry look much better! 4 stars since it took a while to find the right boards for the job.

This gate kit wasn't that difficult to work with, even though we had to cut it to size to fit our opening and desired hight. I read all the reviews and was a little scared but followed the advised of a few reviews and purchase thinner wood. Fence material in cedar about 5/8" in thickness. I cut it to size and after sanding and staining actually I was left with a lot of room for the boards to fit through the channels. I almost feel I should have gone with slightly thicker material to fit more snug. I wished these kits came in wider formats so we could use the same for our driveway.

1-Package arrived damaged, parts sticking out 2-Hinges are welded on crooked so the gate does not open or close freely 3-Advertised Dimension of boards is incorrect. Boards need to be 5/8” thick. 4-Gate is very FLIMSY and will self destruct in wind or daily use. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PRODUCT!

This door is really great. It did the job. In my case i had 60inch+ space to put the door and 47 inch wide door i found in amazon. I had put the new post next to doors based on space taken by door. Tried to make it look professional. Used the high standard woods and painted well. Also added the lights on top of post. People are appreciating my work. Hope my another door also comes well. I have ordered another one which takes 6 boards and i think thats 36 inch wide door.

Took about 3 hours…. Let me start off that standard 6”x6ft pickets do not work! You must buy bigger because that half - 1 inch is crucial! So having to drive back to lowes and exchange pickets to 8ft then get home and cut them down is part of that 3hrs.not to mention what a waste of material and money that is. Also one of my corners came bowed so i had to take some time to fix that because the bolts are to short for that mess…. Then you must cut down the last picket to about 4” in width (i don’t remember the exact measurement) so it is preferable if you have a table saw to get a long straight cut. After all that work, the gate looks pretty good, except the damn arch at the top was not made to size. So now i have to call and complain about that cause that was the kost important piece to me. Im not sure how long it will last as it is all just bolt and nut. I’ll have to go back and add threadlock to all of them one by one….

La porte est facile d’installation. Il est possible de mettre les planches à l’horizontale. Elle est toutefois très lourde, elle devra donc être installée sur des poteaux très solide. Nous avons dû installer des pattes supplémentaires pour solidifier les poteaux de soutien. Le kit comprend tout le nécessaire (cadre, penture, loquets, vis), mais pas le bois.

Not made for one inch boards. Boards had to be modified which created tons of extra work.

Fence board (1x6x6) thicknesses doesn't fit in slot.
