Very handy for colour matching unknown paints
As a professional decorator I find the nix sensor very handy for helping source close paint matches for clients. Once a surface is scanned, it will give you a list of potential colour matches, ranked by how close it thinks they are, I personally don’t find the ranking system too accurate, using it on known paints it has listed the correct paint but with a lower ranking than others, however it’s still very useful to narrow down and find colours. Baring in mind that unless you know the actual brand used anyway all this will ever do is give you the closest options , it has a large database of colours from major brands although has more options for American brands than ones found in the UK. Sensor itself lasts ages on a single charge and is lightweight to carry with you.

Very disappointed initially - Now happy with Nix
My Pro version arrived yesterday. Clearly the device has an interpretation of colors that is way off. I will go in to town this week and try to borrow a physical fan deck to make some objective tests where the color code is known. Since you can’t calibrate this unit yourself I am assuming I will then return it to Amazon. Now I wish to add to/CHANGE my review. After discussing with the people at customer service at Nix who were very friendly and responded quickly I have checked against a fan with color samples with NCS color codes (I am in Sweden). And the little gadget’s results were spot on. So I have now changed my mind and am instead really impressed. Must of course investigate why my initial results were so far off.

Saves a LOT of time and is very accurate
This device is totally worth the money given how accurate it is. The wall color fades in time so I can find out the current color (which is different from what I put up) and do touch up painting without having to go corner to corner.

Very good device
Very good hardware & nix tool kit software is to be improved for color strength comparison, delta E on 100 % strength adjustment, etc.

Logiciel mauvais
L'horreur.

Seen this Digital Color Sampler?
This digital color matching device is remarkable !!! It’s costly expense it definitely worth it. Using it with its app is easy peasy. The built-in color catalogs in the app cover the most popular paint manufacturers in the USA. Hoping they make a car paint version & a graphic design version in the near future! Well worth the cost!
