JanSportTDN7 Big Student Backpack

I bought this bag like 14 yrs ago to use for work..... I use it everyday and it still looks new as I just bought it yesterday

Unzipped the bag as I received it, placed in items from my old version of this backpack from 15+ years ago. Go to zip it back up and the zipper got so caught in the fabric halfway up that my knuckles were going white trying to get it out. Very poor design, had to cut the fabric on both sides of the zipper just to get it undone. Since then its gotten stuck one more time but I was able to pull it to the section I had already cut out previous in order to avoid having to cut another section. Just have to pay attention to where the fabric is when I am zippering it open and closed now.

This bag has been great! I use this as a car/truck bag. It usually, has a set of clothes,first aid kit,flashlight,pens,notepad.and other things you can think of to put in an emergency bag. With room to spare since it has 2 large main compartments and 2 smaller ones up front. Lots of storage. I've also used it as a weekend travel bag. Its been my carry-on when i visit family in California. I've packed 2-4 sets of clothes depending on the weather. The front pockets great for chargers and cords powerbanks and earbuds and glasses. I would put toiletries in a pouch and pack it in one of the main compartments. It's made of a nylon material that does provide some water resistance. So, a few drops from your drink or a light sprinkle of rain, you'll be ok for a short time. Enough to wipe down or get to some place dry. As for durability, it's held up pretty well in the couple years I've had it. As states earlier, it is made of a nylon material. It's been dragged in and out of my cars numerous times. And thrown up in to the airplane bins several times as well. Only one thread has exposed itself at the grab handle. I've had other Jansport packs over the years and they've all been very good. Overall, I'm happy with it and would recommend. Thanks

So I have been using a messenger bag for the last year, but decided to switch back to a traditional backpack because my back has been killing me. As a grad school student I needed a bag with multiple compartments, and enough room for several heavy binders and books. I had this backpack when I was in highschool (go '04!), and I used to love it so I decided to give it a second go. I still have the old one but it's covered in Sharpie designs.Although I just got this bag in the mail today I can say a few things. Will update the post in a few months.1. It has plenty of room! More than I remembered. I can easily fit my laptop sleeve, 2 binders, multiple notebooks, and other misc objects.2. The zipper is currently annoying- it gets stuck on the inner lining, but I suspect this is because the bag is brand new. Over time I imagine everything will loosen up.3. It is very lightweight- so you are not adding extra weight on top of all the junk you have to carry.4. I am slightly disappointed that the material has changed from the older model. It feels a bit thinner, and the bottom of the bag isn't double lined to insure extra support for carrying heavy things, BUT the bag looks to be made well, and with the company promise I'll just request another if this one breaks.5. The straps will need to be broken in for sure. They do have an internal padding for comfort, but it all feels stiff at the moment.6. I chose the gray- which is pretty similar to the online description image so I'm pleased. Dark enough to hide dirt, but not another black bag added to the collection.7. A main reason I liked this backpack back then was the pencil case that still is present in this one. It's right up front (top zipper) so I never felt like I was digging for something to write with.SO.. yes I do feel a bit dorky as this bag is clearly designed for a highschool student (not really stylish by any means), but I can already carry twice as much as my Patagonia messenger so I'm happy.JANSPORT! Could you possibly offer your bags without the large logo smack in the middle? I think the label defers interest.

I wanted a durable, big backpack. It was the perfect fit!

Very good. Roomy and durable. Straps padded and "reasonably comfortable" according to teen daughter. Shame the bottom isn't stiffened or reinforced.

I am very happy with this bag for my son who has started secondary school. It is very spacious with compartments for every single thing you can imagine and for a water bottle.Durability: not too sure as we've only just started using it but quality seems very good.Update:just hung on a peg and the hand strap has ripped apart (Nov 2017) just after 2 months! Disappointed

Very good strong bag, with lots of pockets, including a side pocket for a drink bottle. We had our previous one for 4 years and it has only just started to fall apart. It is my sons school bag, to takes quite a battering. I would recommend this as a strong hardwearing bag to carry round heavy books in.

I bought this for my daughter to go back to school. She received lots of nice comments from her friends. Say no more.

Rucksacks not yet used as we purchased them ready for the summer. They are intended to replace existing rucksacks which have simply worn out. We cram them with cameras, binoculars and books etc when we travel abroad to business seminars and holidays etc, taking them as hand luggage on the plane. Most rucksacks seem to be aimed primarily at hikers and campers, so their design and build quality is often much less suitable.Jansport rucksacks are rugged and designed to carry student textbooks etc, so they are much better for what we need. Heavy duty, robust - and cheaper than many alternatives. We are very pleased! The supplier, incidentally, delivered very quickly, the items were well packed and the price charged very reasonable.
