AI Armageddon: How your career as a recruiter/talent sourcer can flourish by "being human"
In child-rearing, it takes a village. In recruiting, it takes a community. And Katrina Collier has tapped into the international talent sourcing and recruiting community to a remarkable "how-to" book. It belongs on the desk of each career-minded recruiter or talent sourcer. The Robot-Proof Recruiter is not meant to skim, but to read, ponder, and reflect on how it compares to your methods. The Robot-Proof Recruiter relieves some of the tension that this era creates with how to enhance your career while navigating the change automation and technology are creating. The Robot-Proof Recruiter provides benchmarks best practices and identifies the key elements of the skills required by a 21st Century recruiter/talent sourcer.Katrina Collier shares her technical competence on the pages of the book with her illustrations, experiences, best practices, and recruiting secrets to success. Katrina also shares her heart with you. Quite ironically, in the discussion of AI, Automation & Technology, there is an ongoing old school practice of enslaving peoples. If you purchase The Robot-Proof Recruiter, remember it connects you to a bigger opportunity, ending modern-day slavery.

Handbook for modern day recruiting the RIGHT way!
This book is SO important right now. In #robotproofrecruiter, Katrina Collier gives her readers not only a much-needed gut-punch perspective that details the multitude of ways in which many recruiters are failing both their candidates and clients/employers, she forces the proverbial mirror in front of the conscientious recruiting professional, who will likely find himself/herself in a contact state of introspection asking "am I doing this?".Unlike many writers who fixate only on the reasons traditional recruiters are globally loathed, Katrina provides a resolution that comes in the form of a single-source compilation of relevant and effective best practices. She gifts the reader with access to conversations and insights that she has gleaned from industry experts, all effectively referenced. She poses important questions and offers creative (and current) answers to questions that many recruiting professionals already have. This isn't another standard "how to" manual...this is a call to action. Katrina clearly wants to create a legion of BETTER recruiters who produce higher quality placements resulting in a happier (and more productive) workforce.Moving forward, I will ensure that every member of any team I manage receives a copy of this book. I'm NOT sharing mine.

A terrific industry resource!
It's a book about recruiting so it can be dry at times, but the author does a terrific job of breaking out the chapters to properly fit the various topics. I have been in the recruiting industry for 10+ years and this is easily one of the better resources I've read!

Actionable items
This is an amazing book that truly devels in the recruiting profession. It's so well written and almost reads like a novel and will definitely keep you hooked. Katrina talks about the importance of standing out in a sea of noise and making great connections she gives some great actionable tips. She dedicates a section of the book to the intake call which can be our best friend when selling a job. A must-read for anyone in the recruiting profession.

BUY THIS BOOK, NOW.
This is my first ever Amazon review. This book is THE RECRUITING/TA book to own. I have read 13 Recruiter books throughout COVID trying to stay ahead of the game and learn, but I should have started with this one. The knowledge and tips/tricks contained within are ones that you will want to keep handy throughout your career as a Recruiter. This is a one-stop-shop and WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

Even applicable for a laymen.
As someone looking to begin the hiring process for our team but not directly in the recruiting industry. This was a worthawhile read with plenty of good advice and links/references. However, it is a very western centric work style focused book.

An excellent book for recruiters, managers, HR directors and career-driven candidates!
This is an excellent first book. Well researched and very well written its is full of insightful actionable advice that shows the author has a lifetime of experience in recruitment. The author's key thesis is that technology offers powerful tools for recruiters and hiring managers but so far we've been using the wrong tools or using tools badly. She is a lifelong recruiting professional but pulls no punches when criticising her colleagues and profession on what they've been doing wrong. She talks passionately about how recruiters need to be human-centric in order to deliver value - which means the best possible candidates into the most appropriate jobs for their clients. If recruiters behave like unthinking machines then they will likely be replaced by one!The Robot Proof Recruiter gives some advice for candidates but is mostly focussed on the "buy side" - the recruitment professionals in companies or agencies, the hiring managers, directors and the company itself. She discusses how people and companies are perceived and how they need to present themselves in a world where power has shifted to the candidates. Candidates have the power, through social media, to name and shame companies and recruiters who "ghost" them or treat them poorly.Through 10 chapters and 240 pages, this book explains how to present yourself, your hiring manager and the company correctly, how to get the candidate intake right how to write "human first job adverts" and how to leverage technology in messaging whilst making it human, personal and real. She gives very good practical advice on the candidate experience that is needed to get in-demand candidates to choose your job.Detailed insight and info is given on a modern, best-in-class application process, interview format and follow up.It's a well organised and well written book by a real stand out expert in the field. You can read it in a couple of days, it might take you several months or even longer to implement everything you want to change after reading the book. My advice is to buy a copy for everyone in your organisation that is involved in the hiring process and go on a journey reading it together whilst making an action plan. You'll need buy in from multiple areas to make the changes this book shows and demands but I think few things can improve company performance more than significantly improving the talent pool within the company. Implementing the recommendations contained in this book is an excellent way to do that.

Outstanding.
This is a GREAT guide for researchers and recruiters looking to up their game! This book is full of analysis on the industry and it's future as well as commentary (and ideas) on what to do to make yourself stand out--some are truly ingenious. You'll make placements using these ideas.
