Universal MightyMount

Wanted to install my Yakima bike racks on my Xterra, but the latches were way too small. After calling Yakima, they said these are what I needed. Installation on the bike racks was fairly simple, this took a little thought, as the directions didn't explain attaching them to anything but your car, but that's half the battle. After about an hr, it was said and done, and my bikes were secure on the roof! I wouldn't recommend interchanging these to different racks (bikes, snowboards, etc.), as it takes some time to disassemble. You can however pretty easily take them off your car (while attached to the bike, etc. rack) and place them on another. I searched for a long while, and Amazon had the best price, so don't waste your time, I already wasted mine for you! Trust me. If you have large crossbars, go for these, they are great, been using them for a few months now with no issue. Only word of advice is to check to make sure they are still tight every so often, especially if you use them often. They seemed not to loosen, but the rubber to form tighter, resulting in the screws seeming to have gotten lose, so you will have to tighten a bit more once or twice to 100% security. Other than that, A+ Yakima, steep price, but still worth it if you need it!

These worked perfect to replace my too large Thule mounting brackets. I have a 4Runner and Thule ski racks and they work great together!

These mounting brackets are easy to install & remove and fit well on my factory crossbars when adjusted right. An issue I had was that I could not put on my yakima ski rack fastening bolts to lock the rack on. The bolts have about 1 inch arms to prevent them from being removed when the rack is locked. The mounting bracket was in the way of tightening these bolts so I had to saw off about half the length to get them to fit. This could have been avoided if yakima had made to connection point at the top of the brackets a little higher above the mounts. It would also be nice if the mounting brackets could lock to the crossbars, but I'm not too concerned about it as it would be difficult for thieves to remove without opening the car door to step up. Otherwise these racks seem to be decent quality and have gotten the job done for multiple ski trips already.

They sit a little high above the roof rack, but overall, they are of very good quality and universal.

I had some old Yakima Ski racks I wanted to mount on my Thule Aero Bars. These get it done. As others mentioned, it’s not super easy. You have to play around with the 1st one to get it set-up. After that, pretty simple. I’m not concerned about someone un-bolting these off my car, but if you are, that’s an issue. I could never find any good photos of these in use, so I included couple showing the whole set-up.

This mount is pretty universal for most factory cross bars that come with a vehicle as well as most aftermarket. The number of configurations make it very usable to get a firm grip. I used these to install on a 2020 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro factory roof rack cross bars. Currently two of them are holding a Rotopax mount to the roof rack. The included carriage bolts fit The Rotopax deluxe and locking mounts perfectly. The only draw back I see is that they are VERY easy to remove by anyone (including thieves wanting to remove whatever is on your rack)

We used these universal adapters on on 2023 RAV 4 aftermarket rack which mounted to the factory fittings. They were easy to install. We used them on our 30+ year old Yakima Lock Jaws for our upright bicycles. A breeze. No problem. Everything worked great.

Works great on my Yakima rack . I needed extra height on the front of my truck topper because of the curve in the topper my canoe was hitting my truck cab roof

It would be nice if the entire list of Yakima products that this would fit, or not, was included in their advertising. I can’t complain about the product or delivery, but It won’t work on Hully Rollers. I’m left with adapters I can’t use, for close to $90. My mistake for not checking further, but no definitive list that I could find.

I bought this product to adapt to a used yakima roof top carrier I bought on a buy and sell site. I needed to mount it to the roof too carrier so that I could attach it to my roof racks. This product worked perfect. I would likely work for other carriers as well. It is very easy to adapt. I recommend this product.
