very nice 3 burner stove
I should mention that this review will be mostly for the stove, but my stove came with the cast iron griddle and I bought the grill box as well, so my thoughts on the stove are kind of all mixed together with those accessories. I bought this stove to serve as both my deck grill and my camping grill. Once you add in some of the options like the grill box, pizza oven, and carrying cases for all of these items it doesn't work out that this is a very cheap grill. But I've used it for a couple of weekend cookouts now and I have to say it did an admirable job. There was enough room to make a full breakfast of hash browns, scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast on the griddle with just a bit of shuffling food around. The accessories like the griddle and grill box generally use two of the three burners, so I found cooking multiple food items easiest if I used a small pan on the third burner as a warming box. But the bottom line is that there is enough space to cook food for at least five or six people and the stove has nice, powerful burners that can boil water quickly and get the accessories like the griddle and grill box nice and hot for cooking. One thing to note is that the auto-igniter is extremely hit or miss, so plan on bringing matches or better yet, one of those long-stemmed lighters. Saying that the stove is portable is a bit of a mixed bag because the cast iron griddle and grill box are NOT light, and neither is the stove for that matter, but if you plan on just unloading right from your truck at the campsite it should work just fine. Just don't plan on hiking this stuff very far unless you're an NFL pro player or wrestler or something. But it does all pack up into (optional) travel bags that you can carry in 30 lb or so chunks, so it can be used for stationary camping, and it does a pretty good job.

Great Stove!!!
Long review but what i like to see when researching. I purchased this stove for camping and cooking for large groups on holidays. I've used it 4 times so far and it's awesome! The griddle came seasoned, rust free and ready to cook on. I've cooked bacon, sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs and pancakes on it and it worked like a charm. A few things I've noticed is that you need to make sure its as close to level as possible when cooking scrambled eggs otherwise you'll end up with a grease valley full of eggs. I used a 12" magnetic torpedo level and some kitchen knives to achieve until I can make some wedges. I cooked 10 eggs at a time and feel like maybe 12 to 14 might be about capacity as they spread very far when poured. However I cooked 10 eggs in about 4 minutes. Steel chef spatulas are a must for the griddle. I don't have the camp chef spatulas but found 2 identicle for a little cheaper. The square one is awesome for pancakes and scraping the griddle during and after cooking. The longer one is great for turning multiple pieces of bacon at a time and scrambling eggs. I can definitely see the flame tamers as being instrumental but definitely not a necessity and I will be purchasing them next along with a case for the stove and griddle. The griddle is very heavy (obviously being cast iron) but is very easy to clean and retreat with oil. Best cleaning so far is (while its still hot) carefully pour grease or oil from drip cup back onto the griddle and use square spatula to scrape. Then basically wipe it down with a rag and some fresh vegetable oil. I use Clorox wipes to wipe the stove down after use. They work great and only takes a few minutes. The stove is a bit short for me as I'm 6'1" and the cooking surface is 30.5 inches. I'll be looking into some extensions for it but still very usable. On a sidenote, when the grill is delivered, it's pretty heavy with the weight of the stove and griddle combined so a dolly is very helpful. Once they're seperated, both are very manageable. I would also recommend a long lighter to light it. The self igniters work well but on windy days its taken multiple turns to get lit. The paper towel holder and utinsil holders are convenient and work great. Great package deal at a great price! I would definitely recommend this product!!!

I love my Camp Chef Stove!
I purchased this camp stove for my son for Christmas so it has not been used yet, however I own an older model of this same stove so I am confidant in saying this is an awesome stove. Quick and easy to set up, the two burner griddle that comes with it has a drip trough in the front with a grease can holder to contain the mess ( soup cans or similar size cans work great ) and you can cook a lot of food at once on this griddle. This stove has the updated electronic igniters on the burners a feature I would love to have on my stove. If you're looking for a large high quality cook stove that's quick and easy to use, you wont be disappointed with this one. If you're patient and shop a little you can catch these on sale once or twice a year and they are a great bargain. Price the griddle and the stove and attachments separately and you'll see what I mean. Great for tailgating too. We've even used ours in the back yard alongside our BBQ for group events.

GREAT for camping but HEAVY
I bought this for my husband for fathers day after camping with a couple that had one. My husband became obsessed with ti so i went on the hunt. The grill is great, the flat top cooking is amazing for pretty much anything...meat, vegetables, eggs, bacon is especially great. A few things, it's very heavy! I bought the bag for it as well as we will only use this one for camping and it takes two people to put it away and i definitely couldn't lift it by myself. The shipping took forever, and the box came in TERRIBLE condition - there were scratches to the legs upon opening the box. Did I mention the box was demolished? We received this a few days before our next camping trip so there was no time to ship anything back or make any kind of claim so we are just going to deal with it. I bought the package that was supposed to come with the paper towel holder and utensil holder, these were not included when we received the grill, we contacted the company to let them know and they sent them out but we didn't receive them in time for our trip. The burners tend to blow out easily which i would expect MAYBE on a windy day but this was not one of those days. The heat is pretty centralized to the area directly under the burner when using the flat top so be careful with that! My husband loves this grill and is already trying to plan a new outdoor kitchen around it but there are some improvements that can be made before I can be in love with it.

Really impressed! One great stove!
I bought this stove because of the features and it inclued a griddle which fits over 2 of the burners. This stove set up in just a few minutes and I was ready to cook. The burners lit right up and the flame was very easy to adjust. I found while cooking with the griddle that it is best to keep the flame on low, or your food will burn. I could cook breakfast, (bacon & eggs to order) and serve about 10 people in just minutes. To clean-up this stove after use is also a whiz. I would definately recommend this stove to anyone who is looking for a quality built, out door cook stove.

Safety
I received the item and the box was totally destroyed parts hanging out of the box almost like it had been out, opened and returned. This item is too expensive to take a chance on something being wrong or an item missing. Safety was an issue for me, could not take the chance and returned item.

Disappointed
Very disappointed, the gas nipple that connects to the gas line leaks gas, the dampers flop around and the regulator does not provide enough gas. I hope my husband can fix it . I attempted cooking chicken thighs and it wouldnโt get hot enough. I will never order high dollar items like this online again, also the box was ravaged when delivered. This piece wasnโt welded properly and spews gas๐

If you are gonna be a bear...........BE A GRIZZLY
That's what this thing is. The grizzly bear of camp stoves. It's big, it's hot, it's heavy duty and yes it is a little heavy. This is a stove that you buy for serious repetitive cooking. There are a lot of other stoves on the market that are lighter and smaller and those have their place. I own a lot of them and use them all under various conditons and circumstances. But when it come time to lay down some heavy duty cooking, this is the "tallest hog at the trough". It is built to use and built to to last. One of the nicer things about Camp Chef is that they support their products with accessories like stove and griddle cases, patio covers for stoves for weather protection and any number of smaller accessories. Now for the technical side, 3- 30,000 btu burners have plenty of power to cook big pots of pasta, soups and crab boils. Even if its cold out the boil times are impressive. As for deep frying, never tried it but the power is there also. Pan frying, this thing is overkill, but it will turn down low enough so as not to burn. Set up is very easy and intuitive, attach the legs, set it upright and level, hook up the propane and you are off to the races. The griddle works best on the left side, because of the burner spacing. Some reviewers have been critical of the weight or size of this package, I don't know what they were expecting, but if you look at the pictures, description and specs and comment that this is "not for backpacking" I am left to wonder how much out door experience they have. Bottom line is this is not a casual weekender or lightweight camping stove. No one buys a stove like this unless you have a need to prepare large meals in the outdoors. But if you have that need, you can't go wrong with the Expedition 3x. Just the name of it makes me want to take off for parts unknown.
