Not tech savvy AT ALL but got it
I needed WiFi about 200 yards out to the end of driveway for security cameras. This bad boy is the ticket. I did struggle initially because I wanted to use in REPEATER mode and didn’t have it connected to the router. NO MATTER THE Application AP,repeater etc... IT NEEDS TO BE CONNECTED TO ROUTER for setup. (I thought it would sync 😂😂) follow instructions on the paper and it should be easy. once setup you have to go to your WiFi networks and login to each one ext2.4 and ext.5 Then hit the back button. Right now I have it sitting in the window just to see how far it would go and I’m blown away so much so I came to write this review. WiFi distance with the wavlink IN THE HOUSE goes passed where needed it!!!! 200 yards easy. I have 7 acres and I bet once I mount it outside, my neighbors will see my network.. I’m so happy to have WiFi at the end of my driveway. I have a nighthawk X6 R8000 router if that helps anyone.Edit: okay so I have my nighthawk x6’s smart WiFi ON for the extender to connect if I try it with it off the extender doesn’t show up and I can’t connect. I guess when I initially set it up, it was on. I turned it off and tried to use the ext.2.4 network on its own and NOTHING. Having the smart WiFi on it shows the extender on a 5G network in my nighthawk app but not my blink sync module I have connected to the ext.2.4. As long as it’s connected and working I can live without seeing the blink module in my nighthawk app. Hope this helps someone else.

Poor Wi-Fi Signal - Worthless
I might have received a faulty unit. However, I'll explain how I was using this. I've worked in IT for 20 years so I'm familiar with how to set these up and how to configure them. I have a router inside my cabin at about 200' from another building on my property. I needed Wi-Fi at this building. From that building, I have a computer which can see 2 of 5 Wi-Fi signal bars on 2.4Ghz without any assistance. That is, I can see the Wi-Fe ROUTER directly without this product, can connect to it, and can use the internet. However, I wanted a stronger signal. I placed this device about halfway between the router and my building (about half the maximum distance that the device allows). I then find the device via my Wi-Fi connection. It's signal is weaker than the original router. I connected to it and configured it as both an access point and a repeater. As a repeater it made everything for worse on both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz (2.4Ghz should provide the best distance due to a longer wavelength and can therefore travel a further distance).Extremely disappointed. Sending this junk back. Don't recommend at all. Again, have worked in IT for 20 years with a degree and countless certifications in this field. I'm speaking from a position of knowledge and authority on the topic. Junk.

Used to get wifi on our pier
I installed this about halfway down our steps leading to a pier so we could get wifi on the pier....it connects back to the router wirelessly with no problem at all. This product allows us to get wifi on our pier 2.4 and 5 with no problem. 2.4 wifi extends the coverage to about 1/4 mile out into the river, which is amazing. Our guests and family are amazed at the wifi coverage now....very easy to install and works great.

Tips for wireless setup!
Installed unit yesterday. Once we got everything configured and the unit placed, it is doing exactly what we hoped it would. We were getting 1 bar in the outbuilding 150 feet from the house, now we are getting 4 - 5 bars.My only complaint so far - figuring out how to configure the unit for use wirelessly was needlessly frustrating. If you are as tech unsavvy as I am, let me save you some hair pulling and Google searching. DO ALL CONFIGURING AND SET UP WITH THE UNIT HOOKED UP TO YOUR ROUTER USING A NETWORK CABLE. Choose the Wireless setting in the Wizard and enter your internet info (name and password) - you can choose this even though it is currently hooked up via cable. Once you are done with the set up, unplug the unit from the router and power, then you can relocate the unit, power it up and it will operate wirelessly - you do not need to plug it back into the router using a network cable.

Needs Line of Site
I'm sitting in my living room same distance from my normal WAP as to this thing and it has a weaker signal than my usual unsure how this thing extends my WiFi if it isn't even strong within the house. Putting on the roof tomorrow to be sure we're cooking with fire or not. If not, returning ASAP. If strong and able to reach farther than my mesh I'll revise my review.Update: line of site is important for this extender. That includes walls, small tree branches, etc. It is still more stable than my ISPs router wifi, which had several drops each minute.Mounted on the antenna pole on the roof. It does extend to the back of the 3 acres with line of site. 4 out of 5 bars.

A Must Have!
WE are full-tim RVers and are traveling alot and using parks WiFi. This is always an issue and we usually have limited wifi and sometimes we cant use it within the rig, and have to go outside. With this WiFi Extender...we've have ZERO problems. It has boosted the wifi coming and going so well, that it is often better than standing at the original wifi router. And we can always use our wifi within our rig. Amazing product....worth the cost and a must have if you are having low signal wifi issues!!! :) Happy "Campers" here!!!!

Does not work per specifications
I purchased two of these because I live out in the country and wanted to spread wifi out over about 4 acres of buildings on my property. The first problem I encountered was that the admin menu would not come up. I was connected to the extenders wifi but it took me many, many attempts before finally the menu came up. Once the menu came up, it would not let me log in. I've never dealt with software that was so unreliable. Once I finally got it set up, it worked ok. It seems to lose the signal even though it is placed where it receives at least 3 bars per the instructions. I reached out to tech support but they weren't helpful. They only allow you to email them and it took days for them to respond. Not ok, when you're trying to get their product to work and need it now but they make you wait days. So I did it all on my own. The second one let me log in more easily but won't work. It is programmed but always says no internet. Both are junk. Spend a bit more and get better products. Company doesn't care. They got your money.
