Early American Wrought Iron Wall Hook

They look great and appear to be quite strong. I haven't rated them higher because one of the four I bought had its mounting hole drilled far off center, such that there was barely any metal on one side of the hole. That hook was still serviceable, but primarily because I'm using it to hang a fairly light object.Update: I increased the review to five stars, as I bought a bunch of these hooks over the years, and never had a repeat of the issue with the off-center hole. They also are doing a great job of holding fairly heavy stuff (e.g., vintage skis).

Didnt realize searching for a basic wrought iron hook could be so difficult. Once found, the prices were ridiculous. Thankful I found this hook on Amazon. Great price, quality and shipping.

I ordered a few of these, and each hook came in a small plastic bag with a wall anchor and a screw. These were installed into a solid wood wall panel about 1/2" thick but there will always be a bit of rotation if you move/swing the hook hard enough. I had to bend the upper portion (where the drill hole is) back ever-so-slightly because when you try to put the hook flush against a wall, the bottom of the hook doesn't sit flush because of the angle of the upper tab. I just used pliers and cardboard (didn't want to scratch the hook and remove paint) to adjust it a bit. Nice looking.

These hooks were just the right size for what I wanted. I had a handmade Navajo peace pipe that I wanted to hang at the entrance to my cabin. I was afraid the hooks would be too small for the bowl of the pipe and stick out too far from the wall but they worked perfectly. They are thin and hardly noticeable so the pipe displays nicely.

Nice hook although I deducted stars because the screw provided did not properly seat in the hole of the hook...which was also way off center. I found a smaller black screw at Ace Hardware but even so, it still doesn't seat perfectly as their countersink wasn't angled enough. The vertical leg of the hook does not ride flush with the surface it's mounted on either. It projects about a quarter inch at the bottom which was a surprise, but didn't matter in the application I used it for: mounting aside a wood fireplace mantel to hang a poker from. In fact, it's probably desirable in this case. I like it. It looks great.

Everything was fine. It was just too small. Even though I knew the measurements, it just was not going to work.
