UPDATE Dec2021 - it stopped working 😫. Not sure if it was because my iPhone update or it just stopped, but I cannot get any sound from my mixer directly into my iPhone anymore.Original review - May 2020I got another model (just USB to Lightning connector) that lasted less than a minute. I didn't have too much expectation for this but I wanted to give it a try. It work well and it's still working well.I wanted this to connect my mixer (guitar and mic) to my iPhone and do live (off line too) videos with good sound quality (better than the open mic from iPhone). Something that is not working and I'm not sure it's because my setup or this connector is that I cannot go live with it. As soon as I go live (Teams, Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, Webex, etc.) the sounds is disconnected from my mixer and go straight to the iPhone mic. I read this would happen with FaceTime, but not with the other systems for video conferences. That is why gave it 4 stars

Was skeptical that this product would work as well as pricier adapters, but it's doing the job. Using it to plug a MIDI controller into an iPad, while charging at the same time. Worked exactly as wanted right out of the package, no extra software or setting changes necessary.

I have the iPad and wanted to transfer music and pictures from a usb jump drive and this adapter worked perfectly. It’s very easy to use, just plug the adapter into the lighting port then plug the usb drive into the adapter. You will also need to plug a lighting cable into the adapter to power the usb drive. Then you go to the file folder on the iPad and look for the usb drive to transfer the files. I would recommend buying this instead of the one from apple that cost more the twice as much as this adapter.

The product works as promised. Charges my iphone while I record video and capture great audio via a USB Mixer with microphones . I highly recommend this product. The only improvement would be to increase the cable length.

Big improvements on in standards. Actually all they had to do was adopt the cell phone cable standard of weaving fabric around the item to massively improve its durability and create a true value for money ratio I can stand behind and definitely purchase again.

in 6 months of some use this crap just stopped working on me. it sometimes wouldnt connect. it feels flimsy and cheap and i am not sure but the audio didnt always sound right when using with traktor dj on an iphone. I would like a refund or a replacement free. Wouldnt buy again unless i had too.

I returned this team because it didn’t support my need to connect my Yamaha keyboard to my iPhone or iPad. Packaging and timeliness of delivery were excellent. I returned it to Amazon through our local Kohl’s store without a problem.

Update: I loved this thing until it just stopped working 3 months later. It got a LOT of use for 3 months, which makes me feel better but… seriously??? Now I’m searching for something better.Original review:Works great for getting my electric piano to talk to my iPad when we use the Simply Piano app. I didn’t think I needed the charger but it’s really handy because my kids and I can keep playing piano far longer without my iPad running low. I never noticed before how often that was limiting us. I also like how all 3 plugs snap securely into place (they go in easily, but firmly). They won’t wiggle out over time.The chord measures 3’3” from charger to iPad plug, and 3’3” from iPad to midi plug.I noticed some other reviewers griping about compatibility but I expect that has to do with their devices, not the chord. I mean really, it’s just a chord (copper wire wrapped in rubber). That’s kinda like getting burnt toast and blaming the power chord instead of the toaster. Unless there’s something really unusual about MIDI chords that I don’t know about…? Anyway, I’d troubleshoot the devices first. With mine, I occasionally have to power a device or two on and off to get them to talk to each other. At least 95% of the time it all just works effortlessly, like it should.

These worked right away for my iPad Air (1) and a electric drum kit. However, if you want to include other USB MIDI instruments in your setup, then this cable limits you to only one device. The Camera connection kit (find lots here on Amazon) would allow you to connect a USB hub to your ipad then several MIDI intruments into the hub. The iPad will then see multiple MIDI devices. I've tested this, so I know.For example, you might want something like this: iPad/iPhone <- Camera Connection Kit (CCK) <- standard computer USB hub (good quality & powered is best) <- USB MIDI devices to hub...Of course you need software on your iPad that will recognise USB MIDI devices.This is a great cable and VERY simple, if all you need is one device! Recommended.

I had a proble with fit ... which turned out to be a defect in the case of my iPhone. Before knowing this, I contacted MeloAudio and they responded right away. When we couldn't identify the problem they offered and sent another cable without charge. Then I found the issue when I took my phone to a repair shop. Both cables work beautifully. Nice to find such support.

Just what I needed to connect my Monoprice THX Amp/Dac to my phone and keep it fully charged. Works great and there are no annoying messages so far about the cable not being authentic apple.

Used the split USB cable to power an iPad and to connect it to a midi keyboard. Works just fine.
