Nikon Model Sunshade Spotting Scopes, 40mm, Silver

Most of the reviews with heartburn seem to be because this sunshade is silver. Trust me, I did a lot of research looking for a black one and they just aren't to be found. Nikon no longer making them in black anymore? Anyway, I took the time to paint mine, it wasn't a problem. The only thing odd about it was with a Prostaff 3 40mm BDC, while it screwed in perfectly, its' outside diameter is slightly greater than the objectives outside diameter so there's a bit of a lip all around the objective/sunshade join. No big deal for me and perhaps it's exactly a matching diameter when used with Monarchs or Buckmasters. You'll need a Size 31 Butler Creek flip-up objective cover (also found here on Amazon).

This fit my Nikon Prostaff Rimfire II 3x9x40 with only a slight gap where it meets the scopes outside bell edge which should be less noticeable after I paint it black.It was well packaged and arived in good time and shape.

Love the shade just wish Nikon would have printed the label so that when the shade is fully screwed on the label is on the top not turned to the side. Small detail some would say I'm picky but I like things to be clean looking. Would def buy again

This shade does what it is made for but five stars means perfection. It is silver but not the same shade as nikon's scope and the writing is not indexed correctly, neither of which hurts it performance. It is good to have on bright sunny days.

works great on my rifle and a little flat black paint and all is good it don't marry up to the housing of the scope great but still functions great

Fits perfect on the Nikon scopes I own, but I hate the color and will be painting it black like the rest of the folks out there.

Great product, arrived in time, wish it was available in black, instead i just got it cerakoted.

Fits great, too bad it's not matching black color of the scope. Painted it black, not an exact match but the deer don't mind.
