Strong, tough, well built.
The media could not be loaded. Nice vice. Opens up nice, and holds real tight . Fully rotatable in either direction. Sturdy, nice anvil area and good grip. Best vice I ever bought. Irwin is a good been around a while brand. I own several Irwin products all the way from pencil sharpener to clamps and blades. Never been disappointed

Very Good Vise
Found Vise Comparisons online. The Irwin was toward the top for a reasonable price. Although I have many Irwin Tools, I would not have thought about the Irwin name when looking for a vise.I have found this Vise to be much superior to the craftsman vise that I replaced.I would buy this product again.Thank you.

Decent littleVice
Very heavy forIt’s size and I’m hoping it lasts a while. Use it to press u joints together on smaller drive lines and it’s worked great. I was worried it would break or crack but so far it’s been a nice vise

Replaced my Harbor Freight vice
I picked up one of these Irwins as I had been familiar with the brand (sold at Lowes). I saw this vice used at both a guitar repair shop and a gunsmithing shop and figured it would be decent for my needs as I dabble in both fields. I'm not sure which vice my dad had, but he probably bought his in the 1960s. This is not the same product, so if you are looking for that quality, look elsewhere and expect to pay more. Irwin tools is an American brand (owned by Stanley/Black & Decker), but their products are made in the USA, China, Taiwan, Thailand, and India, so do what you will with that information. The vice is solid however was much lighter than I expected. Oddly my Harbor Freight vice was heavier, however their threads on the rotating locks crapped out after a few years and then the main vice's thread did later after likely 5 years of moderate use (maybe 75lbs of torque wrench use). For my needs I trust that Irwin will fulfill it better and longer than HF. However I still feel that it is not heavy duty enough for anyone who needs to hammer metal parts in it. This is more of a "hold it steady" vice, and as long as you bolt it to a sturdy table, you can apply torque to the held item.

just right
Best in this price range. We have a dude at work that breaks everything but hasn't broke this vice yet. That's saying something.

Excellent vice
I believe this is the former Record vice which were virtually indestructible. Anyway great quality product at a reasonable price.
