Works well and turned my blue denim jacket black
This product was cheap and effective. I had a blue denim jacket that clashed too much with my outfits, so I wanted to dye it black. I bleached the jacket first to make it lighter in color, then went through the dye treatment and color fixative. The dye distributed evenly and is nice and dark. The color fixative made the rinsing process very fast and I am very happy with the results.I used a clean 5 gallon bucket from the hardware store to do the treatment and followed the directions and had great results. Note that the dye will not work on any polyester thread, so the thread on my jacket stayed a different color which I actually really like the look of.

Excellent
Works great, easy to use, color stayed for about 4 months of heavy sun exposure and regular machine washes so in normal conditions this stuff probably last years. Dyed a nike hat and it kept the logo white some how so this stuff is the truth

Overall would recommend a few things to look out for though
This works very good. I used it to turn some of my jeans black just note that it really can only turn like one pair at a time. However, if you’re turning something that’s black to dark or black it can do multiple pieces of clothing at a time, but if you’re turning like blue jeans into black jeans, I can only do one at a time. I try to do it with three pairs of jeans and the first one turned out perfect but then the second two they were like blotchy black so I just had to buy Another guy to make them completely black, but I also used like the same bucket of water to dye some clothing that had kind of faded, and it went perfectly back to black. Also, I was doing this in my bathroom tub and it did stain in my tub gray in various spots so keep an eye out for that.

Black dye
Permanent black dye kit. I redyed some faded black denim I had 3 pair. This kit did a fabulous job in the dye. They look new again. I would totally recommend the black dye for any faded denim you might have. I might try the dark indigo next this was so good. It is a process but I got all 3 pairs dyed and the same time, set and laundered in about 5 hours. Go for it! Best purchases ever
This product is seriously one of the best things I have ever gotten. I bought it multiple times now. I am a millenial goth lady, married to a gen x goth lady. I have 2 daughters who also like a mix of bright cheery clothes, and black goth clothes. Basically we have a lot of black clothing, and a lot of it is incredibly faded. I love thrifting as well, and sometimes I end up with cute things in colors I dont wear much. I also love stretchy comfy jean shorts but the softest are always light wash which I begrudgingly wear. Anyways, I decided to try this on some things, because we had an accident where bleach spilled in my laundry room and me and my friend tried to fix it as fast as possible but so much got bleach stained :( anyway I liked this product so much that I bought tons more with 1 day shipping to try on other things, because I got an adhd fixation going on now lol. I was able to dye me and my wifes faded black shirts so they look crisp and dark black, in multiple materials too not just cotton! Even band t shirts etc if they are printed the pattern doesnt dye which is wonderful. Was able to dye some light color band shirts I like but tend to not wear for thr colors, and now I love wearing them. I then dyed many things like tank tops that had colors I didnt like, and did the same for clothes my daughters didnt like the colors. Had a blue and white and navy striped top that is now light grey, charcoal, and black stripes which looks absolutely awesome! I dyed maxi skirts we had, including a white one that was totally see thru which I can now wear. I added vinegar and salt which help with certain materials, and used 2 big stock pots on the stove, and dyed in one, and fixant it with the other. I did not need to stir for 30 to 60 min like it said either, just occasional like soup lol. I also got extra dye because the water evaporates and gets sucked up by clothes, so if u are doing a ton u will have to add water and lots more dye, because towards the end, the dye water will just make it grey, its not as powerful, so keep it new. If anything is too light just dye it again after washing it. Anyways this is awesome, and I am excited to wear my clothes again, its like having a new wardrobe, and I'm so happy, as is my wife. My kids want me to buy more colors soon like purple which we all like, so I'm gonna try that soon too. Wish I tried this in the past to avoid giving away clothing id have still worn! Buy this, and fix up your clothes, you wont regret it!

Not Effective for Restoring True Black
I was hoping this would restore the color of my black clothes that had bleach stains, but unfortunately, it didn’t help much. The affected areas still looked lighter and didn’t match the original fabric color. It might work for overall dull fabric, but not for bleach-damaged spots. A bit disappointed.

Works as advertised.
Treated two faded heavy duty Duluth Trading Company, 100% cotton black t-shirts. After following the Rit Back to Black dye kit instructions, the shirts look brand new. Five stars.

This dye is fantastic. I had an old pair of canvas slip-on that I loved but the manufacturer has stopped making them. It was getting old and faded. I bought this dye and the shoes turned out fantastic. I didn't heat the water to below boiling, as instructed, because I was worried that the fabric would shrink too much and the shoes wouldn't for me. It was heated to @125°F. The fabric did shrink a bit, so I had to use a shoes stretcher to stretch them back out. I would reduce the heat a bit more next time.
