Excellent little machine!
Overall awesome. Haven’t had it long enough to know if it’s gonna give up the ghost, but so far, so good. Was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted it to. I bought it primarily to sew reinforced plastic to a zipper, to create a zippered opening for a greenhouse. The plastic covering was already installed and the zipper was supposed to just stick on, but the glue didn’t hold up well enough and needed to be reinforced. Couldn’t take it down to sew it, so we bought this little tool. Worked beautifully! Some of the loops didn’t pick up on the back side, but I think it’s because the zipper’s adhesive might have been gumming up the machine a bit.

Poor design, tough to use, breaks easily
This machine is very poorly designed. First off, just loading the batteries was a pain - the compartment is barely big enough, and getting the lid to slide and close was next to impossible. Next, the pressure plate is a pain to lift - and you almost need three hands to do that without at the same time depressing the sewing arm and stabbing yourself with the needle. If you can get past that, threading the machine is not too terrible, as long as you have decent fine motor skills and very good vision. Fine - that's pretty standard for any sewing machine. However, positioning the fabric to sew is tricky, and you really have to practice to even get a marginally straight line. There's no reverse on this machine, so you have to manually tie off the stitch and hope it holds. Lastly, my machine stopped actually stitching after a couple of successful seams. It does the stitching motion, but the thread does not catch, so it's basically just putting holes in the fabric. And after half an hour of messing with the tiny tension knob, nothing changed. So I was unable to actually use this for anything. It pisses me off that Singer attached its name to this cheap paperweight. I would imagine that someone out there can design a handheld machine that actually works and is not such a pain to use. I'd pay $40-$50 for something like that. This was total waste of $23 plus tax.

Handy in a Pinch
The Stitch Sew Quick Portable Sewing Repair Kit is a convenient tool to have on hand for quick fixes, but it can be challenging to use. I keep it as a last resort because of its difficulty in operation. While the concept is great for quick repairs on the go, the execution falls short, especially for more complex tasks. However, in emergencies, it can be a lifesaver, making it worth keeping in your toolkit despite its limitations. Overall, it's a nice-to-have item for minor repairs, but it's best used sparingly and with patience.

Great for Quick Fixes—Even in My Popup Camper!
I bought this handheld sewing machine originally for small household repairs, but it’s quickly become a must-have in my popup camper, too! Pros: Portable and Compact: Perfect for travel. It barely takes up any space in my camper and came in handy when a window screen tore and one of the cushion seams split mid-trip. Quick Repairs on the Go: Whether it's fixing curtains, repairing a ripped canvas edge, or patching a seat cover, this little machine handled the light jobs with no problem. Cons: Not for Heavy-Duty Work: It struggled with thicker materials like vinyl or multiple layers of canvas. You’ll need a heavy-duty machine or hand sewing for that. Instructions Are Lacking: Threading was a bit confusing at first. I recommend watching a quick video tutorial to avoid frustration. Bottom line: If you need something simple for emergency stitching or light fabric repairs—especially in a camper or while traveling—this is a great little tool. It’s not industrial-strength, but it’s saved a few camping trips from turning into duct-tape disasters!

Accident waiting to happen!
While I love the idea and it likely works for quick fixes it is an accident waiting to happen. The needle doesn't come up far enough to easily slid fabric underneath. The holding plate comes up easily but the pressure from just trying to keep it up ends up pushing the needle down and could easily snag a finger, its also easy for your hand to slip and accidentally turn it on while trying to place fabric because you're struggling to keep the holding plate and needle up. It needs some sort of locking mechanism. Also the thread wont release if the holding plate isnt up all the way. I ended up buying a smaller actual sewing machine instead.

Good for emergencies and all but need to learn properly first. A detailed manual would have been useful.
