I was unbelievably lucky and got a literal 4 bug infestation. I was able to hunt and kill 3 of the bed bugs myself but I scared the 4th into the deep corners of my box spring. I put this on and the bites have vanished. Best of luck to anyone who's less fortunate than I!

There is a hole in the protector. I'm giving the product 2 starts because there is a chance I could have been the cause of it but if its suppose to keep things out, shouldn't it be unrippable?UPDATE:I never do this but I actually came back to take off stars (would give it 0 if possible) and give an update. I had a minor bed bug infestation and had to wait a while before I could call an exterminator. In the mean time, I did my best to contain the situation including buying this box spring cover to make sure the bed bugs do not infest the box spring. Long story short, I kept waking up to bites all over my body. Imagine my horror when I pick up the covered box spring and see about 20 beg bugs on the outside and numerous bed bug stains from inside the the cover. I regret wasting my money on this. Doesn't do its job at all.

Purchased this cover to protect a twin mattress while my DD is potty training. It's wonderful. Protects from accidents, doesn't mold or smell. Easy to clean and stays put thanks to the zipper. Best mattress cover I've purchased. Just bought another one to fit my son's bed and will probably get one for the guest room. I was worried that because it's plastic my kids would sweat but they do not. Highly recommended.

Hello! I bought the boxspring, mattress, pillow casings. They are all great. Make sure you really get that zipper snug inside the little pouch area. Also check your mattress and boxspring from time to time to make sure you dont see any critters or critter droppings. Just because you trapped the critters inside, doesn't mean you dont have critters outside.Now for the most important thing. A thing that could change a 4 star rating into a 1 star... I still gave this thing 4 stars because it did it's job. I was careful, and made sure to take my time. But I did miss something! It cut my casing. I am giving it a 4 star rating because I feel these stitching could be tighter and closer together. Seeing them makes me uneasy. So the little holes from the threads... Maybe a smaller needle size? I dont know. I dont sew.If you have a metal frame, please please PLEASE tape up the corners. Every time you get up and on your bed, those metal notches rub and dig into your casing. When putting your case onto a metal frame, there is a high possibility of it snagging and ripping. These encasing arent superman. For me, I just taped up my entire frame and the holes. I already bought another casing, but this time I shouldn't have those issues. If I do, I can just update what I did and what happened. :)Edit: It still works great-- especially with the whole tape securing thing. It does a wonderful job. Please note that I also use a steamer on it whenever I clean to make myself feel at ease too. Just for any critters I couldn't get ahead of time too. I trust these.

Let me start by saying this product was purchased to counter an actual bed bug infestation so I'm taking the manufacturer's claim very seriously.After going through cleanup and spraying best practices I needed an encasement for my box springs (2 twin sized under my previously encased queen mattress). A previous reviewer posted pictures of tiny holes in the in seams where the threads had pulled apart the material. That reviewer's photos are spot on with what I ended up with. I have no idea if the holes are large enough for adult bed bugs or nymphs (babies) to slip through, just having the possibility is enough to keep you up at night.I give it 2 stars because the product is easy to slip on the box spring, almost felt oversized for the job compared to different products, and I'm sure it does well with allergens and liquids but if you NEED a solution for bed bugs find something else that doesn't make you doubt it.

These were purchased for bug proofing so I don't know or care about the waterproof aspects. I just know they did the job, were easy to put on the mattresses, box springs and pillows. I was concerned about them making me too warm as many folks suggested but that has not been a issue at all. I tend to be very warm and always looking for a 'cool' spot in the bed but these covers have not increased that need at all. Good, tight seams and zipped closure points. It has been about a month since they have been on our bed and we are very, very pleased. Sorry that I don't know how well they waterproof the mattress.

This protected me for a few months but then tore in two places where the bed frame was joined together. I think it was friction or maybe one time when I slid the box spring along the frame. Anyway, after months of being safe, I started being bit again and found bed bugs had nested in the wrinkles on the outside of the protector. Since bed bugs can live up to a year without feeding, a rip can render this virtually useless.

The moment I placed it in my bed the bed bug problem stopped.The ones in the Mattress are stuck inside and the ones outside have no place to stick to.This is a MUST have in places with high incidence of bedbugs.The only con is that the cover acts like a balloon when you sit or lay on the bed. So it's kinda weird getting to bed. After that it's nothing more than the a bit of "wish wish" noise that is barely noticeable.
