I’m really impressed with this water test kit! It comes with plenty of strips and even includes bacteria test kits, which gives extra peace of mind. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and I got quick results in just minutes. I tested my tap water and was surprised by how much information it provides—lead, chlorine, hardness, iron, fluoride, and more. I got this mainly because I was curious about my home water and wanted to compare tap vs filtered water. It’s pretty simple to use. You just dip the strip in the water and wait a bit, then match it to the color chart. I liked that I could run several tests without it being complicated or messy. It covers a lot of different things, so it gives you a decent overall idea of your water quality. The bacteria test is included too, but that one takes longer and you have to follow the timing pretty carefully. The only real downside is that the colors can be a little tricky to read depending on the lighting, so it’s more of a general guide than anything super precise. Overall, it’s a solid kit if you just want to get a quick understanding of what’s in your water and compare different sources.

I tested the water from our refrigerator (filtered), kitchen sink (not filtered), and a sealed bottle of water (Crystal Geyser) each 3x to account for any variances. Before testing all three water sources. The bottled water had the best results with water hardness at the low end between 25-50 ppm. However, water from the kitchen sink and refrigerator were equally at the far-end (250ppm +). None of the tests showed unacceptable levels for the other indicators, with the exception being Alkalinity for both the fridge and sink (180ppm +), while bottled water was <40ppm. I wanted to test our water because my wife and I are looking at buying a water softener and whole house water filter, and needed an idea of the quality of our water supply. Overall, the strips are easy to use, and there's plenty of strips for future testing at a relatively low cost.

It is perfect for testing the water at my home to determine if it is safe to drink. It is easy to use and provided results in seconds - it was very fast . The results are comparable to those of professional tests and the instructions are simply and easy to follow.The test strips can detect bacteria and delivery results quickly.

I did some research on the best tap water test kits out there and this one came highly recommended. I was really worried about the chemicals in my tap water. I recently moved from a place that had water so hard, it corroded everything! I didn't dare drink it. In my new apartment, I noticed it wasn't as hard and didn't have the chemical smell my previous place did, but I was still concerned because I live in the same county as before. I drink a lot of water and I'm constantly buying it. The water coming from my new apartment's tap is really clear and there's no chemical smell. I cook and shower with it just fine - couldn't I drink it, too? I went to the county water board's website to do some research and while they've made some improvements, I wasn't satisfied. I wanted to know for myself what was coming out of my taps, so I checked out in-home testing and found a recommendation for Varify 17in1. It comes with everything you need to test your water; it gives you a ton of strips and the instructions are straight forward. It also comes with 2 separate tests for bacteria which freaked me out a little, but I was really happy they were included. I performed the tests and found no concerning additives, like chlorine, lead, mercury or fluoride. The only thing that jumped out was a high level of hardness and sulfates. I was really relieved and felt more confident in buying a water filtering pitcher, which would eliminate the need to constantly buy gallons of water. The bacterial test was separate and did not find any bacteria in my water, so I was definitely happy about that. I am very happy and relieved that I got this test kit, and I feel really good about the results. I totally recommend it!!

(Tip: if you get unexpected or concerning lead results, follow up with a certified lab test for confirmation.)  • Bacteria results take longer (~48 hrs) versus most chemical tests.  🧪 Bottom Line: A very affordable, easy at-home tool to check many basic drinking water indicators; perfect for spot checks or monthly monitoring — just don’t rely on it as a definitive health-grade lead/alkalinity analysis. For that, lab testing is a better choice.

The strip doesn’t change colour.

Los indicadores de color son confiables. Varify es estricto con los tiempos y la sensibilidad de sus tiras. Solo sigue las instrucciones. Recomiendo evaluar 2 o 3 veces tu muestra, si bien deseas asegurar un resultado confiable. Además, contrasta el resultado con agua de la llave y agua embotellada. Suena a un desperdicio de tiras reactivas, pero vale la pena comparar qué tan variable es la calidad de una fuente de agua.
