Toddlers love this book
Great interactive book. There are tabs to pull to make some of the dogs head, tail, or legs move. And some textures for the kids to feel.

"Dog! Dog! Dog!"
This is a fabulous, interactive, rhyming book, showing a variety of dog breeds. I bought this when my son was 10 months old, after he said "dog" as his first word. He requests it VERY often, first by pointing to it up on the shelf, and now pointing and saying "Dog!". He loves to touch the furry patches found on some of the dogs, touch the one dog's sticky tongue made out of double stick tape, and at 12 months, he just figured out how to pull the tabs to make a tail wag or one dog lift its leg to do its business. He loves to lift the flap at the end of the book, as we shout out the name of the animal hidden beneath. This book is well worth the price I paid on Amazon. It's listed as hardcover, but the pages inside are very sturdy, more like a board book. One thing to note is that it is a supervised book in our house, since our little guy likes to pull on the moving parts, and I've already had to do some repairs!

Wonderful Book. Keeps babies engaged.
I bought this book for my 7-month old grandson. Since I taught his dad how to say "puppy" with a similar book when he was 9 months old, I wanted a book with lots of actual pictures of dogs and puppies. This book has that and much more. Several of the pages have pull-tabs to make a tail wag or a leg scratch... or a cute surprise at the end. Other pages have soft ears or sticky tongues to touch, along with lots of textures on tails and backs. The array of breeds presented is wonderful, and the book is surprisingly sturdy. It's a little bigger than I expected, but I like that. It's a good size, just right for little hands to explore. My grandson gets very excited when we bring the book out. He will sit with me for the longest time just looking at each dog and exploring all the different textures and motions on each page. We particularly like getting to meet each dog by name at the end of the book. I would highly recommend this book to parents and grandparents who not only enjoy reading to their children, but also enjoy exploring.

Amazing!
I was excited about this book because my daughter loves dogs and interactive books. I was still surprised by how awesome it was when it showed up! It is a huge, sturdy book with tons of fun elements. The cover has two soft furry tails and a tail that wags when you move the tab. Inside are dozens of high-quality pictures of many types of dogs. There are several different types of furry textures, several moving parts, and even a dog with a sticky tongue. My daughter particularly liked this and has been disappointed recently as the stick wears off. The last two pages open up to an extra wide spread with a hidden non-dog visitor. The words are silly but not in an irritating way. She is eleven months old now and will be enjoying this one for a long time. FYI it is huge, several inches thick, and not good for trips!

Hands on, funny and adorable!
I saw this book before I was even pregnant and I knew I had to buy it. When my daughter was born, my mom bought it for her, and now that she's almost a year old, my daughter LOVES the book. We have 2 dogs of our own, so naturally she's already interested in dogs and fluffy things. We encourage her to feel all the different textures (she likes the Old English sheepdog's fur the best), and she is so interested that she'll explore them several times before she allows me to turn the page. She also loves the moving parts and tries pulling the tabs herself. The book has been tossed onto the floor and thrown around more than I would like, and it has stood up very well to the abuse. We have other books by Matthew Van Fleet, but this is my daughter's favorite. I highly recommend it to anyone with a child who loves dogs or touch and feel books.UPDATE: The book has finally started falling apart. My daughter looks at it every day about 20 times a day. She ripped off the head of the dog shaking itself dry, and has now busted the spine. Would I buy it again? YOU BET!
