Not a fan of the clay.
I got this for Christmas for my 10 year old. I'm not a big fan of the clay that comes with it. I tried and tried to get it to be a uniform texture with the right amount of water, but no matter how much I kneaded it or added water or let it dry out, I just couldn't do it. When we would go to make a pot I could get it centered, but then when making the pot the clay would just crack open, even though it was moist. Also, the fast setting is pretty slow, but maybe for this age that is appropriate.The wheel itself seems ok. I will be getting different clay from the art supply store and will update the review if it makes any difference.

much better than the cheaper versions
Got this for my 6 y.o. grandson. My daughter tells me it works very well, much better than the cheaper versions.

One of the worst purchases I have made on Amazon
This is a cheap piece of plastic that does not even hold its own weight on a table. I am flabbergasted by the price for this piece of junk! We have used it once and it fulfilled the holiday gift opening surprise, but nothing more. One of the worst purchases I have made on Amazon

You pay for what you get. This is a good quality product that doesn't feel like its going to break in 5 minutes.
