A fantastic balanced DAC.
I've tried a few DACs and this is by far the best I've tried within my budget. The balanced output is a game-changer for me as all unbalanced outputs send quite a bit of noise to my speakers from my computer.

No back up
Note that these are all 220v units and when they fail the manufacturer is completely uninterested.Spend your hard earned elsewhere

Great little DAC, until it died on me
Great sound. The step up from a MF V-DAC 90 - itself a HiFi Choice “Editors’ Choice” in the day, as I recall - is amazing. Using with a Quad 306, Piega Premium 30.1 speakers and BK Electronics P12-300 subwoofer, the soundstaging is wide and precise, with great transients and a sweet, detailed sound. Highly recommended.And then, just over a year later, one channel died:(

This Dac sounds good but beware!
This DAC is very good. Mine has failed and is dead to the World. There is no customer service for this brand.Once it is out of warranty you are on your own!

Non ho provato altri DAC per paragone e mi sono fatto consigliare questo SONCOZ da un amico che segue l'ambito high-end.Quello che posso dire è che il dettaglio è veramente alto con un suono finale molto equilibrato.Per le mie esigenze non penso che cercherò altro in futuro anche in caso di cambio ampli e casse.Utilizzato con Wharfedale Evo 4.1 e Onkyo A-933

Cheap Chinese Junk that sounds good
Bought two of these the first arrived in the plastic wrapped manufacturers box, and it looked like it lost a battle with a belt sander. It came with a Chinese plug. Returned this one.Next one came in a little better shape at least in an amazon outer box. No manual, plastic face plate covering scratched up. Online instructions are awful, as to what the filters do. I pretty firmly believe that they are eq profiles and not filters. Cant seem to find one that is flat. Emails to manufacturer go unanswered. Volume know has way to much increase between each click. This one also came with a Chinese plug and set to 220V.That being said it does play and does sound good if a little bass heavy. It is an improvement over my NFB-28, and you will be hard pressed to find a 9038 dac this cheap. Like I say it sounds good but paired with a Gishelli Amp it rocks my phones.... just cheap, poor packaging and unresponsive vendor. Just plan on ordering a US plug with it.....
