How to Speak Zombie: A Guide for the Living

Aaaarrrghawannazaaaagggghhhhnnnnn (means turn out the lights, Honey, and let's get on with it. . . ) (I made this one up, but you get the picture!)Well, something like that, anyway--this is a hardcover book with only about 12 pages, but it is HILARIOUS! The cover and pages are really hard, like a book for a very young child, but it's NOT a child's book. Think of it as an adult toy (book) for the zombie lover. It has a big picture in the middle of each 2 pages, with zombies attempting to lead a normal life--like going shopping. They do what they do while arms and fingers and other appendages fall off. The left side of each spread gives some zombie talk and translation. The right side of the spread gives an intelligent sounding explanation of zombie life. There are different spreads of zombie life.There is also a sound module, where you press one of 11 buttons for various zombie sounds, so you can learn zombie language and become multi-lingual.This book is hysterical! I got it for a 57-year old friend who is a tekkie by day but loves to dwell in the simple pleasures of a no-think zombie movie at night. He LOVED it!I wonder. . . do ya think zombies BOINK???

This book was a hilarious delight for kids and adults alike. It was a gift, and the person who received it was absolutely delighted with it. The heavy cardboard pages are pretty kid-proof, and the electronics worked perfectly (even though we bought a used copy). A good time was had by all, and, with Halloween just a few months away, they're already making plans to use it for the holiday.

Yes, it is a cute book, but entirely stupid as well. So, I hope you enjoy stupid if you plan on getting this. You know those kids books that have little buttons that activate a sound the corresponds with a picture in the text. They are there to involve the young "readers" in the process.There are also buttons with this book, but instead of a cute kitten meowing there is a garbled, grunting rendition of the author's idea of "zombie-language."Like I said, cute but stupid. Kids love it....I guess I do to.

This is really a fun board book. Think of a boardbook for adults. Plus, the little phrases in "zombie" it says are a hoot. My kids think it's great. This is definitely a book for the zombie lover in your life!!I only gave it a 4 because there's not a lot of actual reading that goes along with it. But it's fun value is definitely a 5!

The book was fun to look at, and I enjoyed pressing the "zombie" sounds (especially good for scaring pets!), but there wasn't much in the way of content. I also felt that the "sounds" could have been... more interesting. It was what I expected though - fun and a bit of entertainment.

I found this at a Borders in the sale bin and laughed the whole time I read through it. The best part are the sounds that are meant to help you learn "zombie speak" as it's so tongue in cheek funny! Each button has a different zombie phrase. I bought it as a gag gift for my brother- worth the laugh!

I bought this for a family member that loves zombies and horror movies. This book doesn't disappoint. The illustrations are great, the sound effects are fun, and it's a durable book. Even though I bought it as a gift, I've been bringing it with me to show my friends. It's a huge hit!

I purchased this item for my brother as a gift. Each page has difference scenarios of situations that could arise being a zombie and how you should act (as the world has now been taken over by zombies) Each page has a button on the side with translation from zombie into english. The pictures are very funny and very detailed. Completely useless, but absolutely hilarious!

Bought for my 16 year old daughter who has a love of zombies! She totally loves this, great laugh on Xmas morning opening this. To be honest, sounds like normal teenage talk to me! :)

I bought this for a Xmas present for my son who loves all things zombie related .I personally do not have the same interest but was impressed with the book and the sound effects were very funny.

This was a gift for a colleague at work. Yes a grow up. Shes a zombie at the weekends and would love to be one full time so is mad on anything associated with zombies! She loved it so.....

I cant wait to see my son in law's face when he gets this at Xmas - He is always talking about Zombies so now he can learn the language - It only has a few pages but what it lacks in size it makes up for in entertainment value.
