Works well -- good substitute for the overpriced Apple mount
Worked perfectly and allowed me to mount my mid-2010 27" iMac to a VESA arm. I had some trouble getting the stand off with the instructions (you have to stick the card in to block some springs), and finally found some YouTube videos that showed someone doing it which was really helpful. Once that obstacle was out of the way, the rest was pretty easy and this kit fit perfectly and looks sturdy for much less than the overpriced Apple version of this mount.

Installation a breeze and tolerance better than Apple OEM
Being in IT and using the Apple Branded VESA brackets often I decided to give these a shot and i have to say that they are machined just a tad better than the Apple ones. There is more wiggle room with these where Apples are zero tolerance. For this e who complained i am clueless why. The key is tomato sure to tighten the top screw down all the way snugged make sure the side holes are lined up at the same time. Also, to use the card make sure monitor is all the way in down position and the stand pops right in position for removal. Excellent product!

Definitely look elsewhere. There are better options for not much more money.
Item came well packaged and seemed good on initial inspection. However, instructions lacked clear guidance on how to remove iMac stand and I had to use a video on Youtube which indicated one should lay the monitor flat and pull back the stand to give optimal access to the spring inside.Instructions also were not specific about which models needed to remove the plastic protection strips from the back plate (in my case I had to remove them). Removing the strips puts direct metal-on-metal between mount and monitor. Not safe and very likely to scratch. With these strips removed it was still very difficult to get primary bolts into the poorly machined primary bolt holes. Bolts went in crooked and were difficult to screw in.

Nice mount for Apple Cinema Display
For the price, this was tough to beat. It went on just as the instructions describe. The only problem I had was that one of the holes on their hardware was not drilled out 100% and so one of the screws would not thread properly. It was easy enough to fix with a quick tap from my drill. Once mounted, it feels solid and stable.

I liked it but I didn't need it.....
I purchased this for my late 2011/early 2012 27" Thunderbolt display for use in conjunction with the Ergotech Freedom Arm. I ordered this adapter for use with the Ergotech Freedom Arm but after installing the Vivo adapter I realized the Ergotech Freedom Arm includes it's own adapter. ;-(Assuming you need/want to use this as a VESA adapter I think it's fine. It's constructed well. I found the instructions pretty straight forward. I wish I had read the other reviews before installation as I found the adapter plate was too high by ~1/8" preventing installation of the two crucial side screws that mate the adapter plate with the "metal bar" that interfaces where the original stand was mounted. Instead of removing the adapter plate protectors I used a 3/8" drill to ream out where the provided screws attach to the "metal bar" and it worked fine as ultimately the screws are counter sunk. This is definitely a solid piece of machined aluminum. Prior to reaming out the bore I attempted to lower the middle section by pounding on it with a 4lb hammer and it didn't budge. Pretty impressive for a ~$30 adapter?

Apple doesn't sell this but you NEED it
Apple sells the wall mount for Macs but not this critical piece to hang it on the mount. It''s a MUST. We mounted our old Mac in the kitchen above one of the counters, it was too tall without the wall mount. Now I have the internet, recipes, and calendar all where I need them. My other computer is used for everything else. This worked great!

This was very hard to install. The old stand ...
This was very hard to install. The old stand was difficult to remove, and this one's dimensions or machining were off enough to make it almost impossible to get the screws into when reinstalling.

Nice mount, but instructions should be clarified.
Bought this mount for an Apple Thunderbolt display hoping it would be "as good as" the Apple part. It is, but with one caveat. The kit comes with three parts that hold the actual mount to the bar. The instructions just say "make sure holes are aligned" while putting in the two side bolts. They don't reference the center screw at all, but if you don't put that in first and tighten it down, you'll never, ever, ever get the side bolts in. Took me about 5 minutes wondering what I did wrong before I realized the instructions were missing a key step. It even lined up with the two metal and plastic strips still on.Recap: Nice mount. Put the center screw on the mount first, then the side screws. If you don't, you're doomed......
