Good information for troubleshooting
There is a lot of great information on testing components and how they work with out the need to be an engineer to understand as is the case with other books. The demonstrations with inexpensive multi-meters shows testing method and what your results should be or close to it if you are on a budget and want to learn about electronics, testing and troubleshooting.

Good book BUT !!
I like the material in the book but I couldn't recommend buying the book because all the pictures are in black and white which was a big let down after viewing the book on my kindle. When the text are referring to colors of things like resister bands you have no clue ?So I would recommend the kindle version instead.

Excellent resource for debugging analog circuits.
This book is an excellent practical resource for the hands-on DIY electronics hobbyist. Since there are plenty of textbooks that focus on theory, the author of this book instead dives into topics that matter to the DIYer -- practical troubleshooting and common-sense explanations of commonly encountered issues in analog circuits. The author clearly has a passion for circuit analysis and has done an excellent job of sharing his extensive knowledge with the rest of us.

Really focuses on discrete bipolar junction transistors, but enough more for good value.
If you like building and working on project electronics, this is a good book, one of the best digs into BJTs I have ever seen.
