Men's Essential Details Waterproof Wingtip Oxford Shoe

Elegant looking shoes and fit my feet really well. Bought them to replace another pair of Rockports I own that were advertised as water proof but were not. On receipt of the new shoes I realized that in fact they have the same material as my old pair. See the attached photos. Additionally of interest is the heel. Note on the new shoes the red bar. On the old ones this has completely fallen off and left 3 holes through the heel. This on both left and right shoes. Looks like bad quality, poor design and lack of the correct adhesive. I work and wear these shoes in an office environment so not exposed to chemicals or solvents. Shame as the shoes look and fit great but at this price I would expect a better design and construction. Will see what happens with the latest pair and if they are actually waterproof. Live in the Pacific NW so plenty of wet days ahead to try them out.

These Rockports were delivered on Sep 10. Today is Sep 29, 2019. In just 19 days, I have very significant heel wear on the outside part of the tread, and an exposure into the heel airspace inside. I do walk a lot, but in the 19 days I've had them it works out to about 15 miles total in these shoes. The heels are not replaceable, but I will glue on some heel protectors to try to salvage the situation. They are comfortable, attractive, and in all other respects seem to be nice shoes, but the shoes do have an Achilles' heel. I expect far more durability from a $100 pair of shoes.

The fit was as expected which was nice. The surprise was when I took them off the first day and the black shoes had turned a few of my toes black as well. I’m not sure how they made these shoes this color but it’s not good. Keep in mind these are non slip shoes so I’m sure they knew they would get wet for part of the day if not all day.

These shoes are unbelievable. I'm thinking of buying two more pairs in case Rockport goes out of business. They look like normal dress shoes and very professional BUUUUUT they feel like tennis shoes. Mega comfortable and gets compliments routinely at work. This is the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever owned. Now that i discovered this, i will never go back. Works in formal, work, casual. What a steal.

Did not buy, but will soon. Have had these for years. I manage a wine bar and need to have a business casual look daily, but also need the functionality of a non skid server shoe. These are awesome. Have a pair right now, that I am replacing after Four years of daily wear. After two years needed scholls inerts. And recently had to have a leather to sole patch done, but after four years of 10 hours a day and $125-150 I cannot recommend these more. Plus they offer many of the wide sizes, another huge plus.

I like the shoes and will keep them. They felt good when I first put them on. I usually wear size 11 Medium width but the first pair I got 11 was too small, I sent them back and got a full refund which is nice and makes you feel more confident to order shoes online. The 11 1/2 felt good so I hit the road outside and walked about 2 miles with no ill effects although they do seem a little stiff. Next day they felt uncomfortable and a little narrow on the little toes. I feel like they will break in a little better. Maybe will update this review when I have put on a few more miles.11-13-15 starting to break in. I think maybe my feet swell a little when irritated and have returned to normal. I have some black Rockport Wooster Wing Tips with softer less glossy leather size 11 that have been comfortable from day one and continue to be. I still find myself choosing these Essentials for their appearance and they are increasingly comfortable.

Very comfortable from the first wearing -- no issues at all in terms of fit. I get a bit of squeaking from the soles when I wear them on linoleum, but otherwise, they are very serviceable "business" shoes. Time will tell in terms of how well they wear, but for now, I'm quite satisfied.UPDATE: After three months, the squeaking is still there, and frankly a bit annoying. Outdoors or on carpet, they are the best, but on linoleum, the noise can be rather loud. I wonder if this is an artifact of the (very) nonslip soles? At any rate, I do love these shoes, but wish they came with a silencer!

Shoes are comfortable and fit well. The arch support could be better but is still OK. There was no breaking in shoes required as they were not too stiff. The shoes strings are terrible and will not hold a knot tight. I am not sure how long these shoes as I have only had them for a week. I would give them 5 stars if the arch support was better and the replaced the shoes strings with ones that would stay tied without the need for double knotting.

Exactly what I expected and fulfills its role perfectly for what I needed them for! These are the 'sneakers' of dress-shoes: great for looking professional to and from work, and they are very comfortable for everyday, all-day, wear, too, if needs be. Rockport doesn't disappoint, even at the low end of the line!

This pair's colour tends towards the darker shade of cordovan. The photo captures that colour accurately.The mildly squarish toebox can be a deal breaker from some especially here in North America. But this pair has surprisingly grown on me since I got it in early September 2017. The toebox's shape, with its intricate medallion, gives it a decidedly European flair. I love wearing this pair with my gray window-pane pants and I get compliments for that combination.Compared to my other Rockports, these full brogue wingtips have heft without being heavy. There is generous padding in the tongue and the topline. The leather is shiny and almost patent-like in its finish. That this pair comes with Rockport's proprietary Hydro-Shield waterproofing makes it ideal for Vancouver, where it rains a lot for more than half a year. The footbed offers a lot of cushioning. By the way, this pair required no break-in period which is typical of my experience with this brand. The morning I got, I wore it in the office the whole day without any problem.Here is my only beef: The original shoelaces at 36 inches are simply way too long. I am now using 32-inch and they look just right.

Best dress shoes for walking and comfort. Fit is perfect and quality is excellent.

I purchased these because of the fact that they were advertised as being waterproof and I was also looking for a pair of wingtips. It fits the bill on both accounts. Very pleased.
