Perfect and exactly as advertised
I just bought a Lenovo 700 tower with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 video card that, among others, has one HDMI output and one DisplayPort (DP) output and supports up to 4K resolution (actually 5120x3200). My two monitors each have a native resolution of 2560x1440 at 60Hz with HDMI, DP, and DVI-D inputs. I am using both of them together for an extended desktop at their native resolution (running Windows 10, BTW).Since the GTX 960 has an HDMI and a DP output, it was a no-brainer to use an HDMI cable to connect one of the monitors. For the second monitor, I could have just used a DP cable and called it a day; it would have been less expensive. I am not sure if I made the best choice or if it matters at all. Both HDMI and DP offer their respective video resolutions, with audio, and up to 60 frames per second (fps). I decided, for consistency and probably for no other reason, that I wanted both monitors to be connected via their HDMI inputs.Hence, my purchase of this DP to HDMI adapter. Only Active DP adapters can support higher resolutions than the 1080p (1920x1200) of passive adapters, which again is different than a straight DP cable, which supports full DP resolutions. There are a good number of active DP to HDMI adapters to choose from, and I would just make sure you read the specs VERY CAREFULLY to ensure you pick the one that accommodates your needs. The last thing you want is a 1080p adapter for a higher-definition monitor or TV, or one that does not support the refresh rate or frame rate you expect.I have had good prior experience with "Cable Matters," so I went with them. Installation could not have been any simpler. I plugged the DP end of the adapter into my graphics card and my HDMI cable from my second monitor into the other end of the adapter. My second monitor came on immediately as the extension of the first. No installation or configuration of any kind was needed. It is just as if I had used a regular DP cable, so the end result is exactly what I wanted. There are no downsides to this configuration, and unless the adapter fails for some reason, I am a happy camper.

Works as full 4:4:4 RGB adaptor for compatible TVs/monitors
I'm not sure why Amazon wanted me to rate "sheerness" or "thickness", but, um, both were ok. More importantly, this is an ACTIVE adaptor and so allows use of a 4:4:4 compatible TV/monitor with a DisplayPort graphics card. Current graphics cards typically have only one HDMI port. If you want to drive two HDMI monitors at 4K, this adaptor does the job. If you use a passive adaptor, you won't get full 4:4:4 color and computer text will likely be multicolored versus black. A passive adaptor won't work. As always with Cable Matters, it works and is reasonably priced.Note: most TVs don't support 4:4:4 color, so check the specs. And TVs that DO support 4:4:4 may do so only on one HDMI port and/or it must be set for "advanced HDMI" or similar.

A Solid Choice for an Adapter
I purchased this DisplayPort to HDMI adapter back in 2018, and it has performed exceptionally well for my portable monitor (used as a secondary monitor during gaming for btop). This adapter delivers solid and reliable performance for most of my display needs.Key Features I Tested:Resolution: It supports up to 2560x1600 without any issues.Refresh Rate: I was happy to find that it works flawlessly at 120Hz.HDR: Unfortunately, HDR is not supported at this resolution and refresh rate, but this limitation is understandable for an adapter of this type and age. And by not supported, I mean that you can select HDR but the screen goes completely wonky. Plugged straight in, HDMI-to-HDMI, HDR works how one would expect so it comes down to the adapter.Despite the lack of HDR support under those conditions, this adapter remains an excellent choice for secondary displays. It has been durable and dependable for years, and I highly recommend it for anyone with similar display requirements. If you don't care about HDR, consider this a 5-Star review.

If you're having trouble using a Displayport to HDMI adapter, THIS is what you need.
I just wanted to share some information with people that I wish I'd had when I was putting together my most recent project. I recently built a four-screen computer monitor display, using four Acer 24" LCD screens. Two of those screens had HDMI connectors, while the other two only had DVI and VGA. My video card, a Nvidia GeForce 1070 GTX, had three DisplayPort connectors along with one DVI and one HDMI.I was able to readily connect a DVI-to-DVI connection for one screen, and used a DVI-to-HDMI adapter for the other. This left me with two HDMI only screens and only the remaining DisplayPort connectors for the other two. I initially just bought a passive DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable for each of those screens, but when I plugged in everything I received no signal on the screens and my PC didn't detect them. After much research I found that the 1070 GTX video card doesn't have what's called DP++ connectors, which means I needed an active adapter. I bought two of these adapters, plugged everything up, and I have a nice four screen setup with no further fuss.If you're trying to use the DisplayPort connectors on a 1070 GTX to go to anything but a DisplayPort connector on your screen, like me with having to adapt to the HDMI connectors, don't waste your time buying anything but these adapters. They work perfectly.

Works well
This works well using the DisplayPort input on my 10 year old Dell M4700 laptop. The internal graphics card is an AMD FirePro M4000 with 1 GB GDDR5. I bought a relatively inexpensive Dell SE2422H monitor as a replacement for an old Samsung that I was using for the extend desktop. I was not happy with the VGA quality of the image and was already using the HDMI input for the main monitor. I had never used the DisplayPort input prior to this so this was an experiment. The description of the adapter said that it would work with AMD Eyefinity so I gave it a shot. Worked perfectly for my needs.
