Be sure to click the "Look Inside" button to see for yourself.This is an excellent, guided tutorial to developing a sensible, loop-free cursive hand that is simple, easy to write, and (most importantly), perfectly legible.I used to own Tom Gordie's "Simple Modern Hand" (now long out of print) and--failing that--this was my alternate (and preferable) choice. If these reviews on Amazon, combined with the "Look Inside" peek at the contents, are not enough to convince you, simply head over to YouTube and watch some of Mr Neal's excellent videos ... particularly the one entitled "Cursive Handwriting for Adults", which was produced specifically as an accompaniment to this book.If you remain unconvinced at that point, you should simply seek another text.Best of luck in your efforts to improve your handwriting! This will be an excellent start.

I think if you’re looking for a very specific time of handwriting help this book would be useful, but it just wasn’t for me.

I love that this book was published now. Cursive handwriting is not taught in school any longer, so future generations will need this book if they want to learn the correct way to do cursive handwriting. This book says it will “improve your handwriting, however if you never learned cursive, it will also teach you cursive. There are step by step instructions, easy to follow instructions, sample sentences and many practice pages. Book also includes symbols and italic style writing. The only tools needed are paper, pen or pencil and patience. Practice and correct repetition will help you master cursive writing. Once you have mastered the basics, you can make your own style of cursive writing.

I'm helping my sister with her wedding planning. I have some classic calligraphy training, but the results were a little dodgy after trying to write so many. This book is great because it's a more casual style being taught. Think more "hip cafe sign" and less "your dad's diploma" handwriting. I've come to really love this writing style because it's elegant but also much easier to read than older-school calligraphy, and doesn't make you look like a seventh grader, like true loopy cursive might. There are plenty of exercises and space available to practice, so the book doubles as an instruction manual and a practice space. I also found the training very relaxing.

I purchased this workbook for my brother. He was a part of those public school students who were not taught cursive in school. Personally, I was impressed with the comprehensive description provided. It simplified the concept in a non-condescending format.

This book was very inspiring because it has demonstrated how someone even with crappier writing technique than mine, can sell books on writing techniques for 10 bucks on Amazon to people who are desperate to improve their handwriting like myself.

Eu já nem lembro mais como eu segurava a caneta antes desse livro! Pode demorar um pouco para se acostumar, mas vi uma melhora nítida na minha caligrafia, de algo meramente legível para algo até mesmo agradável de ser lido.O autor é bastante didático, e a segunda parte do livro é dedicada a variações de letras e floreios, para quem se interessa nesses assuntos.

I’m taking the time to send a review about this book because this has changed my life. I always had a bad handwriting, and I stopped writing in cursive over 20 years ago because it was illegible. Here is my improvement after 3 days practice. First pic is a comparison on how I used to write and day 2. The second pic is day 3.Please note that this is meant to be a book, not an audible or kindle format, or you lose the whole point. Practice and practice. And yes, it can be done.Thank you for providing this book.

This only has letters and words on the left margin which are then hidden for lefties. It doesn’t contain practice sentences. And despite having multiple chapters on handwriting, none have space for tips for left what’d writers who seek to improve their handwriting. I wanted tips for writing cursive in a more relaxed way rather than pushing the job across the page in the order of the cursive strokes I learned alongside right hand writers at school.
