Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Shampoo, 11 Oz

I’ve been on a long hunt for a truly natural, non-toxic shampoo that doesn’t leave my hair feeling greasy, coated, or dry—and this one hit the mark perfectly. The scent is fresh and clean without being overpowering, and it actually feels like it cleans your hair without stripping it. I’ve tried Castile soap and a few other “natural” shampoos, but they all left behind a weird residue or made my hair feel heavy. Not this one! What really surprised me is the rich lather—most organic shampoos don’t suds up much because they’re free from sulfates and harsh surfactants, but this one still gives you that satisfying lather while staying gentle and clean. My hair feels soft, nourished, and truly clarified after every wash. If you’re looking for a more holistic, cleaner alternative without compromising performance, I highly recommend giving this a try.

here is my honest take: PROS: Avalon Organics Lemon Shampoo has a really great fresh smell. I feel more awake when using it in the morning after I have peeled myself from the night's slumber. It really helps get the conditioner and leave in oil out of my hair - which is great. I have to use conditioner and leave in oil because I have wavy to curly hair, and getting the buildup of products I use out of my hair is crucial. Avalon does the trick, and it is a health and environmentally safe product. It is EWG reviewed, meaning it is on the safe list of products for me that do not have hormone disrupting chemicals. This has a very reasonable price point for a safe and high quality product. It is inexpensive, but not cheap. CONS: Any safe product is not going to suds up as much as unsafe products. Sometimes I need to lather twice to get all the residue out, so this product doesn't last me as long. However, the quality makes up for it.

I've been using this product a few years. It cleans my scalp well, which is good as I typically wash quite rarely unless dirty or sweaty. I've long, straight and natural hair, but choose shampoos for scalp health. Sebum and dead skin can be an issue after 5-6 days of no wash. It's not a product I use every wash though: I consider it a bit on the harsh side of natural shampood and don't fancy unnecessary perfume in products, either. It doesn't compare in aggressiveness to some cheap shampoos, but I typically condition after. I switch through a few shampoos so as not to get irritated. This one's definitely far side in terms of unhealthy for me but it removes that layer well when required. If not, a quick rinse and second wash will. Its quality, seems to me, has been less consistent. This is what I mean: Several months ago one bottle seemed much harsher than usual and burnt my eyes. This bottle I bought on Amazon as an exception and it smells off like sonething gone bad under the fruity robes of the citrus perfume. Those caveats told, I would recommend it for occasional use.

I tried both the lemon and the mint scent. I like the mint scent a bit better. I have been on a quest to find a decent, organic, and biodegradable shampoo that cleans well and doesn't dry out my scalp - especially in winter ... plus not be horribly expensive. This one fits what I was after and I'm happy with it. Leaves my hair clean and my scalp moisturized / not dried out.

Hair and scalp feel clean and love the scent

This was great to clean out built up product and clear up oil however I needed to use a LOT, twice and my hair was still musty smelling after washing out. the pledge-like lemon smell isn't my favorite but non of the smell remained after washing out. If you want something that has a very light scent this will work. My oiliness was gone and my hair stripped pretty good but it did not clean dirt and my hair was still stinky afterwards. My hair is very thick and oily. Maybe good for someone with different hair type.

I love this shampoo! I have waist length fine hair (lots of it) and it helps keep it feeling bouncy and not weighed down, also TONS of shine! Lemon is my favorite scent, and it delivers with realistic lemon scent, not the chemical kind. The scent does not linger much afterwards. I tried neutrogena's new grapefruit clarifier, and did not like it nearly as much. I don't use products or blow dry my hair, and I only wash my hair 1-2 times per week so this works for me most of the time. When my scalp got dry in the winter I did switch to H&S dry scalp care for a bit, but couldn't wait to use this again, as nothing else feels as light or looks so shiny. Definitely recommend!

Un shampoing clarifiant qui mousse bien, une petite quantité de produit est nécéssaire pour laver mes cheveux longs. Le parfum de citron est très agréable. Ce shampoing nettoie en profondeur les chevux, ote tous résidus de produits coiffants, les cheveux sont souples et brillants, facile à coiffer. En plus, il est bio ! Je recommande !!!!

Me encantó! Huele riquísimo y deja el cabello brillante. Además es totalmente natural, no contiene ingredientes dañinos, es vegano y no probado en animales. Vale lo que cuesta y sin duda lo compraré otra vez. Me alegra que Amazon venda este tipo de productos.
