The plastic side holsters for the bands are weird. They hurt my friends face during the day, I tried them on and it's not big enough for my face in a comfortable way, kind of narrow at the chin and nose area.Doesn't really stay sucked up to your nose area. I just get constant complaints from my girlfriend that they suck. The elastic bands mess with her hair, hard to put on hard to take off. The plastic holsters are way too big. The elastic bands don't come pre-strung on one side you're forced to slip them in by yourself in the other two plastic holsters which hurts your fingers, very hard to get them in to even use the mask.Pretty much every time you talk it moves.The nose bridge area isn't real giving for the nose

I am beyond the return date and tried one of the ten masks on to find out it did not block smells like other 8214 masks I have used in the past.3M generally makes fantastic products so I am quite confused on this. I bought these to block solvents that I would with and can smell them all.Very disappointed and have no apparent recourse.

Good fit, good seal and comfortable enough for extended wear. Quality is good for several uses so makes this a really good price. A good upgrade from the 8511 and worth the price. I'm using this for a woodworking mask, maybe overkill but better protection because I am wearing it all day.

I get close to the piece when I'm TIG welding and I was having some trouble with wheezing after welding for a while from the burning material. Now I wear these under the helmet and the wheezing is pretty much gone. Having a pretty big nose I spent a little bit of time forming the bridge to my nose so that no air entered or (worse because it fogs the helmet) was exhaled. Once I get one dialed it works great, it just takes a little to get things set up.
