Schrade 162OT Old Timer Fixed Spear Blade Knife with Delrin Handle and Leather Sheath
I consider myself a knife collector. I purchased this Schrade - 162OT Old Timer Fixed Spear Blade Knife to add to my collection, but I think I'll use it for a Truck knife. That is I'll keep it in my truck for use when out fishing, in the wooded area around my south Mississippi home and around the dock. I have to say, Shrade knives have been the general standard of knives for my way of thinking for the last 45 years since I owned my first Shrade folding pocket knife, an original Old Timer, I still own. I consider knives tools and some very specific tools, in that they are good for what they are designed for and not much else. Yea, you can keep one on your hip for every use that comes up, as many do, but they are usually for cutting something. You can stick it, slice it or stab it, it is still cutting and this knife is one that can be utilized out in the wet, the garage or for self protection as necessary and the stainless blade can take and dish it out. It's attractive with the boot knife look that dagger pointed knifes promote, with a look of dread to those gazing down the shaft from the pointy end. It does have a good balance which I think feels right in the hand. The Old Timer Name hold a sort of reverence to those like me, the utility use of knives having been a part of most of my life, playing and working. The sheath is hefty leather which is made to hold the blade loosely, not a fitted sheath like so many custom made knife sheaths, and this one is almost unnoticed on the belt sitting in the back pocket of my jeans. For the price paid, $21.75 delivered with a Prime membership, and for me was almost too much of a temptation to resist. I won't abuse this knife by throwing it or screwing around with it, rather I'll sharpen it to a shave edge and will expect this knife to last the rest of my life, which won't need to be like forever, as I am already 63. If you need a good boot knife, a utility knife or just a good sheath knife for cutting rope or such use, consider this knife a top contender for you money. When it arrives and you hold it in your hand, you will surely like the feel and it's utility. I love mine.

love it!
i had been looking for a small knife i could carry all the time, i finally settled on this after looking at alot of other options. after using it regulary for a week im really glad i choose this one. the spear point and flat grind really get the job done. it isnt flashy or gaudy, all business and utility which is what i wanted. the stainless steel works well, vary stainless and after a few day of using it at work and in my free time (i randomly cut things up and whittle alot) it needed a quick strop on a ceramic rod. it came back to a razor sharp edge easy. the one thing i dont like is that ive seen people online knock the brass pins loose to find out there are really screws underneathe. that is a blatent false advertising. that one thing aside it is a useful tool. the sheath is alright. not paper like somepeople have mentioned but also not high quality leather ether. it holds the knife on my belt well and is comfortable so it doesnt bother me. overall i think it is a great buy for 20 bucks. i plan on using it all the time.

Extremely pleased
I don't often do this but though this knife deserves it. I own a large number of knifes from variety of manufacturers. I bought this out of a whim along with two other knifes all different. I like using a belt knife as apposed to a folder but I do own a nber of them too. But this knife has been a complete surprise. It has become my go to knife for everyday use. I have used it for any and everything and it is still sharp and holding it's edge very well. Also the shieth has also been a surprise as well. Most times when I buy a knife I make my own shieth for it. As most shieths manufacturers supply are junk or I just don't like the way it fits on your belt. But this one is just perfect for this knife and it too is holding up very well.So if your looking for a good knife that doesn't break the bank this is it.

decent knife for the money
as stated in the description it is ONLY sharpened on ONE side . Not a dagger !!! For the money it is a decent buy . OK leather sheath , will be applying some mink oil to soften it up . Pay attention to the listed size !!! NOT a high dollar knife , Not the Fanciest knife but Glad I Bought it .....

GREAT boot knife
This is a quality blade, as it is robust ....no nonsense, straight forward & designed to last a lifetime. Unlike so many of the "fast food" Gimmicky blades you find nowadays. I like everything about it, even the leather sheath. The size is perfect....i just tuck it into my waistline & it is there when i need it, so comfortable i could forget i was wearing it. The blade is SHARP! & i really like the fact that the other side is not. This knife also makes a good thrower when you choke down to the proper balance point on the handle. Although i advise against throwing from the blade as it is hard to do without getting small cuts on your fingers upon release. I cant find anything bad to say about this blade .....so i wont,Shoot i might even get another :)
