The pages are thick enough to handle a pen without bleeding through. This is the second book of this series that we have purchased, and both are nice quality. I like that this one has a hard cover but the kids version has a thick soft cover, so it can stand up to a beating, but my mom journal looks very classy and nice. It is small enough to fit in my purse easily, but too large for a standard ladies pants pocket (so it is larger than a pack of tic tacs). It would fit in a cargo pants pocket. This is the sort of book that I would buy, and then never remember to fill out. However, I got the Q&A a Day for Kids for my daughter as a fun summer journaling activity for a kid who hates journaling but wants to be a better writer. She loves her Q&A a Day book. I quickly realized that she is great at keeping up with it, so I bought this version to fill out while she is filling hers out. She was so excited to see that we have matching books. It increased her enthusiasm for journaling. Sometimes the questions in my book and hers compliment one another. It has been a really enjoyable little moment of our days together, and it sparks some fun conversations. Kiddo is looking forward to finishing her book so she can have it as a "safekeep" for years to come, and I am glad we have this daily ritual to keep us engaging with one another in a meaningful way during lockdown. I'm sad there is not a "for dads" version. Dad feels left out now. Review: My favorite way to end each day - I started this journal January 1 of this year and so far I love it. I try to keep up with some journaling and recording memories for my kids, but it's hard to keep up with and then I feel pressure to make it perfect. This journal is great because it has a different question for each day. No need to think of amazing things that happened each day. No need to have profound thoughts about motherhood. The books guides with sometimes simple, sometimes more thought-provoking questions. It has already led me to write down and record things that I wouldn't have thought to otherwise, such as a funny face my child makes, or a "recent first". I keep it on my nightstand, and try to write in it each evening. I also look ahead to the next day's question, so I have it in mind the following day. It's also a great little journal because missing a day or two is no big deal. It's easy catch up on because it's not based on a specific day's memories. I love the multi-year aspect of it, and I just know how fun it will be in future years as I'm filling in the spaces, to look back at my prior answers. As my children grow and motherhood changes, the memories will be priceless. I hope they will love reading it one day too. This book will be on my list of gift ideas for mom friends who are past the baby stage, as the book can be used by moms with kids of any age, and really makes it easy to remember and record small details that will mean so much to remember later.

My favorite way to end each day

A great keepsake for mom and child.
I, as many others, am a busy working mom. I also, however, think that it's extremely important to have many different keepsakes for my children. I try to journal and write down all the funny sayings, milestones, weights and heights, etc. Sometimes, it's still so easy to forget to document the everyday, the mundane, the little things that I know I'm going to miss. My mother passed away when I was young, and I wish she had written in a journal like this. It would give me a little insight into the woman that she was (Entries like: "I'll be honest, _______ drives me crazy, What's one piece of parenting advice you absolutely do not believe in? Has motherhood made you stronger or more vulnerable? Tickle your child and write about it here. What do you envy about your child? Describe your parenting style in five words"). This little journal helps me to document the big and small moments. Is it small? Yes. I do wish it were a tad bigger, not like a full sized notebook, but somewhere in between. I write small, but still sometimes wish for a little more space. Is the full length sticker on the back terribly hideous? YES. I mean come on, the book is so adorable, until you flip it over and there it is. A huge sticker covering the entire backside. Despite the two cons above, I still love this book. I originally purchased it as a baby shower gift, but started writing in it that day, and immediately ordered another. I have now purchased three.

Perfect Memory Journal!
Confession: I bought this for a Christmas gift, but started thumbing through the pages and fell in love with the concept. I've started using it myself, and will have to purchase a second copy for the intended recipient! :) But I really do love this little book. I think many of us would agree that the ordinary details of today are going to end up being the sweet and special memories of tomorrow - if only we could remember them! And that's where this little gem comes in handy. I bought a similar book when my toddler was first born, but that book did not have any questions/prompts, just blank pages. I kept up with it at first, but eventually got to a point where I didn't know what to write. It can be hard to think of something original to write every single day. But with this book, the simple questions get me writing down memories I never would've thought to record, but know that one day I will love reading! Sample questions include, "One smell I associate with my child right now is _____, " "My child's newest friend is ______" and "What is getting easier these days?" Highly recommend, although if I could give 4.999 stars instead of 5, I probably would, only because I feel like the book would be even better if it was a little bigger. If you have more than one child and want to answer the questions for both of them, you will have to write pretty small.

It might look a lot smaller than I expected but still it helps me reflect on my precious life as a mom ❤️

This is a journal which I love filling in and what's more interesting is when my daughter will get to read it 5 years from now :)

Love the idea of looking back and reading my answers as the years go by to see how me and my son have progressed and the memories we have made. I think it would make a really thoughtful gift!
