We really like this book! It hits all the important points (any other first-time mommas not know they had to birth a placenta until the dr/midwife says to?) in a really honest but not gross or graphic way.My 4yo has asked us to read this book to her over and over since getting it a few days ago, and I realized that not only is it preparation for her little sister to be born at home soon, it is her story, too. Our oldest was born in the hospital, and our 4yo was born in a tub at our home. She loves being able to share her story as she prepares for our new baby! It has been so sweet to see them connect with this story- their story.

My 3 year old and I really enjoy this book. It was just what I was looking for to prepare my toddler for our home birth. I bought other books but this is my favorite. Very informative and hits every aspect of birth that I want my toddler to be ready to experience, the sounds, facial expressions, blood, and even the birth of the placenta, all presented in a way my toddler can understand and feel confident about. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend if planning a homebirth and have littles! I used this book to prep my 2 year old daughter for our homebirth. A month ago I had my son and my daughter was present for my whole labor and delivery. She was so excited by everything and wasn’t fearful at all. She was the best little doula. Seriously, she sat by my head and patted my back and even watched her brother being born. I know that this book was a key reason she was so comfortable and didn’t think birth was scary.

I ordered this book because it promised so much on the back, but each topic was only briefly touched upon. I would have preferred more than a mention of, say, the sounds mama makes or the positions she takes. It glosses over the harder "real" parts and makes the whole thing more idealized.For those looking for an introduction only that isn't meant to fully prepare your child for a home birth, this is for you.

My kids live this book and it’s helped majorly in prepping for our home birth of our upcoming child. My toddler girl picks it up often to look at the pictures.

I got this to prepare my 2 and 4 year old before our third homebirth and they love it. Beautiful and colorful pictures and age appropriate discussions of midwifery and home birth.
