Small
It is very compact but that's what I wanted when I ordered it. It is pretty much just a box opener so my regular knife doesn't get used for opening boxes. For no bigger than it is it has a little weight, definitely sturdy, stays sharp.

Teeny tiny but excellent quality.
Perfect for just keeping in your pocket or in the glove box in your car. The cold steel tri ad lock is hands down the best lock on the market. The knife comes razor sharp! So even though it looks like a cute little toy, it's NOT! BE CAREFUL!

Great little knife.
I got this knife because I needed a box opener. It works great for that and about everything else I throw at it. It is small but the finger groove makes the knife like an extension of your hand. It is super lightweight and extremely sharp. The grind lines were perfect on the blade. The small design makes it so people don't get upset when you pull it out to open something. It is a great buy with the price.

Strong lock, great fit & finish.
Another winner frm cold steel. Great fit & finish. Strong, sharp, well engineered knife. Like it a lot. Recommend this knife with its strong triad lock. Tanto point is especially useful opening boxes, packages.

Best bang for buck but don't be fooled.
I'd give this knife a 5 stars, if it weren't for the misleading claim of CPM-s35vn steel, it's actually a lower grade steel, as seen in the picture 4034SS, however don't let this deter you unless you are a metal snob, I'd prefer vg10 however they make up for this soft steel by giving a thick spine and wide angle on the tanto point, which by design is to reinforce the tip, so I'm confident it'll hold up well for it's size as a mini EDC knife. I bought this to replace a Dragonfly 2 Spyderco. And while Spyderco is definitely leagues ahead in quality and design, Cold Steel is probably best when it comes to getting something nearly flea market prices with better quality and design. I love this knife. And hope to update this after I've put it through some abuse. It's a little awkward having such a wide angle chisel (tanto) on the blade. The locking mechanism is solid. it would be great if it had a clip but I'm just going to make a lanyard for mine out of Paracord. For below $30, I'm amazed by the quality. Cold Steel does well at budget and quality. The opening mechanism is smooth, very very little blade play once locked open, . Texture on the handle feels comfortable. Also one last thing, this knife is Tiny. And fits a surprising amount of blade in a small package. The GrivX handle material feels slightly more rigid than the FRN, honestly FRN, GrivX and Zytel are essentially the same basic components (Nylon and Fiberglass) that being said. My experience with the abuse my Spyderco went through was exposed to corrosive chemicals, oxidizers and solvent's not to mention being run over a fee times. It's the same kind of plastic used in Aerospace technology and automotive components that need to hold up to strain from different directions and fluctuations in temperature while retaining there shape. in a knife handle, unless you're taking a belt sander, blowtorch of drill to it it's going to last. The Spyderco Dragonfly 2 is a better knife however it's 2-3 times the price, This little baby however is still an awesome little tool meant to be used rather than displayed, You won't be disappointed. It's also fairly sharp and ready right out the box. Just keep in mind it's not much bigger than a mini bic lighter closed. Actually smaller than the pictures impression. That said it is a great keychain knife of you at a little hoop for a ring or lanyard instead of the one Iit comes with, see updated picture.

Great little knife!
Sharp 2.5mm thick 4116 steel (compares to 420HC), grippy Griv-Ex scales, 2-inch blade, keychain ring.. no pocket clip

Its a perfect box cutter
Best box cutter ever, perfect blade size for the job, super sharp, plus its got a nice thick spine which makes it formidable on heavy duty cardboard. Easily makes any cardboard box recycle ready, and looks great. The tanto blade is perfect for taking down cardboard, but liked the knife so much just ordered the drop point as well.

Keychain or fifth pocket beast
Sure, it's a tiny knife, but of all the keychain-sized blades I own, this one is the mightiest. I've been a fan of Cold Steel's triad lock on bigger blades; it's just as robust on this little guy. The blade is incredibly sharp, perfect for opening packages, cutting threads, and even small prying jobs. Slips into a watch pocket completely for times when I need to be discreet about having a knife. My normal keychain knife has been a Kershaw Cinder; that knife has a more reinforced area to attach to a key ring than this one, but the Micro Recon is easily the better overall knife. If you like having a choice of what size knife you EDC, or like me, tend to carry a larger blade and a small one for different tasks, this is a good choice for something small.
