Cliche ridden and childish
I could not believe how bad this was. It was almost a caricature of bad writing. Full of cliches.that made me wince It reminded me of the old Nancy Drew books plus the worst Harlequin romance. The aspect of these reviews that bothers me the most is that I read that the book got a majority of 5 stars and I paid money for it. I do not trust these reviews any more. Can you imagine going from Donna Tartt''s Goldfinch to this. drivel.?This author may have written better books but I would never read another book by her.C.de Lune

Cheerful but not memorable
A young woman, who, incidentally, is remarkably rich and successful learns her parents died in a tragic accident. She has scarcely seen them since she left for boarding school at ten. Subsequent visits were so stilted it didn't even seem strange that they moved away as soon as she graduated from college. Now she must dispose of their immensely valuable but sterile Florida house along with a strange assortment of unexpected items in two well concealed safes.Magically she is struck by lightening, develops amnesia then finds she can briefly read minds.Fortunately the book is not too long.

I'm embarrassed I bought this book
I liked the plot summary, the idea that the parents weren't who or what they seemed, so I bought the book. After one chapter, I was thoroughly disappointed. It reads as though written by a pre-teen with dialogue I would expect from that age group. Especially the way the male character talks and acts. I bought it so I plowed my way through hoping it would improve but, if anything, it got worse. She can read minds, then she can't read minds, and neither has any bearing on the plot. She knows her parents weren't her real parents without any rhyme or reason and everyone believes her apparently because she's so level headed. Even the parent thing is so convoluted that it doesn't make sense. It was as though the author didn't know where she was going with the plot and forgot what she had previously written. In all, a sorry waste of time.

Lame
It really was very fluffy. I did get to the end, only because I wanted to see what happened to her parents. I am glad I didn't spend much on this book. The "romance" was very unrealistic. Luke was ready to marry her and have children, but they hadn't kissed yet. There wasn't one believable thing in the whole story line. And I didn't appreciate the four letter words which were thrown here and there, and seemed ill placed. The only thing I did actually appreciate was that there were no steamy sex scenes. That gets old too. So, anyway, can't say I really would recommend this book

Poorly Written
I just learned how to return an ebook. It's very rare for me to post a negative book review, especially one for a well-known author.I read the sample for Forget Me Not. Although the writing was passive, with a lot of telling, and the heroine seemed bland, the plot was interesting and the ebook was on sale, so I bought it. I became more and more disappointed with the weak heroine, her lack of emotion when making a shocking discovery about her parents, and her strange choice about what to do about it. I did remain intrigued enough by the plot to continue reading another chapter or so. Then came the strangest plot twist--not even a twist, a 90 degree angle in a weird direction. I shook my head in disbelief and stopped reading. Several hours later, I was still annoyed enough to hunt around the Amazon site to learn how to return a book. (Not an easy thing to find.)

I couldn't even finish
Poorly written sap. The story started well but quickly deteriorated. The characters were not believable. The situation, which,if developed, would have worked, wrapped up too quickly. And the end? Four animals lined up? Really? I have dogs, cats and a parrot. They would never line up to March anywhere. Sorry I wasted my time.

Delightful, Non-Violent Mystery
I have a problem understanding the bad reviews on this book. It is escapism at its best. A good mystery, no violence, no graphic descriptions of death, just a purely fun read. The best movies and the best TV shows are not true to life. If they were, they wouldn't be good, and this book is the same. The major characters are all likable. This is my first Fern Michaels book, and it won't be my last. I wholeheartedly recommend this book if you want an enjoyable read.

Not very believable
I have read many Fern Michaels' books in the past and felt she was an excellent writer. She was one of my favorite authors. However, in the past few years her writing has deteriorated (in my opinion) and her books just aren't that good anymore. The characters aren't very well developed at all and a lot of what happens in the book is totally unbelievable! In this book the main character meets a guy and before they even go on a date or kiss, they both state that they are in love with each other and make mental plans to get married!!! They spent about a week together before they started planning their wedding!! Come on! I think she needs to get back to the style of writing she did many years ago when her books were actually good!

Discombobulated
The story, while intriguing enough to keep you turning the pages, had huge disconnects in the story. It seemed if you weren’t paying attention you shouldn’t notice these things all the way throughout the book. I love this author normally but this was too much of a “happy ending” all the way through the book

I was disappointed with the book - I did not like the 'slang' language and overall felt the novel to be quite trashy. I could have stopped reading of course but I was interested enough in the plot to want to see want happened. However I would not order another of her books.
