Hyper HyperDrive PRO 8-In-2 USB-C Hub for MacBook Pro & MacBook Air, Space Gray

This hub needs a complicated firmware hub to function as a connection via USB to external monitor without flickering. The firmware update requires you to partition your MAC and install WINDOWS. Obviously, this is a mac-only product, so that is insane. I bought this to replace another slightly older version from the same manufacturer because it caused a flicker. This one flickers a hundred times worse, and they KNOW about the issue. Why in the world they don't just do a batch firmware update on their product I have no idea. They have a published blog that this is a known issue and the comments say it takes nearly an hour. It's a multistep fix. You can also call them and get them to do it. Instead, I will just send this back and find another manufacturer. I'm pretty disappointed in this product, and I had bought one for me and for my employee.

I bought this with the intention of connecting my new MacBook Pro 16" to my old 27" Apple LED display and a newer 24" HD monitor. The Apple display can only connect through the miniDisplayPort, while the HD monitor HDMI. Since both ports are available on this hub, I thought it would be an excellent solution. Unfortunately, it looks like the hub does not support simultaneous use of the two displays. HDMI seems to have priority when both ports are plugged in. When HDMI is plugged in , the HD monitor is connected. When it's removed, the Apple Display comes on. And it only disconnects when the HDMI plug is reinserted.
