Review: Pin Sharp - A lovely pin vice and drill bits was received by Duncurin for review, courtesy of Vine and Cylbaq. Without doubt, building an Imperial Star Destroyer is quite a big project and even more so as I am planning to illuminate the whole thing with LED lighting and fibre optic light pipes. It is true to say that my wife does not see this challenge and she mutters increasingly and darkly about such things being dust collectors and perhaps one day, sooner than I realise, it will be a stark choice between me or my models for the skip. Whilst accepting that our house is strewn with battleships, submarines, British/German tanks from WW2 and so on, I am hoping there is still a model or two left in me. Central to this strategy, is this wonderful handheld pin vice, drill bits and bench top small vice which has parallel jaws and also capstan-like projections for irregular items. The bench top vice also has locating holes so that you can secure it to your bench should you need to. The whole thing is a nice set. Please note there are no instructions which is no great problem but one can only get the size of the tiniest mounted drill bits by referring back to the listing on desertcart and I suggest you print this as the colour-coded mounted bits could be easily confused – especially once removed from the fold up mounting case they come in. The straight-shafted bits have a legend on the case (Please note only one set of these was received so maybe check this before purchase?) and provided the user returns one before taking one out, this should be no problem. The pin vice is robust and fits easily within one’s palm, it doesn’t hurt or rub. The chuck secures all the bits beautifully and tightly and the bits are sharp and precise. The range of drill bit sizes is just about perfect for someone like me and the robust nature of the chuck in the pin vice means that it will accommodate a wide range of other drill bits too should the need be there. Drilling the model in various strategic locations to accept either a miniature LED or fibre optic cable is accomplished easily, precisely and quickly and of course will be perfect for different gauges of cable so that a perfect fit is obtained and the whole thing will be unobtrusive. The range of bits on offer means that a precise fit can be obtained between optic cable and location on the model so that a minimum of superglue or epoxy will be needed. In conclusion, then, this set is absolutely perfect for the plastic or resin modeller and if negotiations proceed smoothly, I am hoping it will also be ideal for the “O” gauge Evening Star locomotive in white metal and brass that I am hoping to build next. Shhh, not a word. Please see pic of Star Destroyer in progress and the engines being drilled to accept LED or the fibre optics. Many thanks. Review: Received broken piece - Just received my order but not happy as one arrived broken which is typically the one I needed. Not impressed.

Just Great For Precision Small Drilling
Review for CYLBAQ 32 Pcs Pin Vise Hand Drill Bits Set Mini Pin Drill Bits Set with Mini Drills, Twist Drills and Bench Vice for Wood, Jewelry, Craft Carving, Electronic Assembling(0.3-1.2 mm PCB Drill) Owning many drills of various sizes, I don't have a very small one for precision drilling. The package is a mini vice with mini hand drill along with small precision drill bits. Ideal for arts and crafts as you often need to make tiny precision holes which would be at best awkward with bigger sized drills. Works well and is ideal for smaller more precise drilling. Can't comment on value as no published selling price at time of review due to availability on Amazon.

Nice and precise
This set contains: • 1 x pin vise • 1 x bench vise • 10 x PCB mini drills(0.3-1.2 mm) • 25 x twist drills(3.3mm/2.8mm/2.5mm/2.2mm/2.0mm/1.8mm/1.5mm/1.2mm/1.0mm/0.8mm) My husband uses it in his shed to work on toy model cars and really likes how precise the bits are and how strong the vice is, although it feels like a cheap plastic. But it does the job well so... The set is suitable for wood, plastic, resin, acrylic and plastic. However, it's not suitable for steel, iron or stone. Overall, for the price of £13.99, this set offers good value for money.

Works fine
This hand drill set isn't the best quality, I'll admit, but they're sharp enough to do for the time being. I imagine it'd be a good kid for beginners - you can figure out which sizes you like / use the most and can upgrade those gradually. If you're a budding jewellery maker, it's definitely worth getting one of these as the sizes will be ideal for the vast majority of the wires and findings you may end up using.

Surprising good quality hand drill and vice set...
The “Pin Vice and Hand Drill Set” from CYLBAQ is a handy little miniature hand-drill set predominantly for use with arts and crafts and the like. The set isn’t a fancy branded set or anything like that. Instead, it feels more like something you’d pick up at the market or the like. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of should you be purchasing this as a gift for someone. The overall quality of the miniature hand-drill and vice is surprisingly good. Yes, it’s cheap and cheerful, but the actual construction of the drill in particular is pretty darn solid. In use the hand-drill works very well. I do a lot of DIY projects around the house, so having this on hand is great. I can certainly imagine if you have a model building hobby, or make jewellery or something like that, then a miniature hand-drill like this will be an absolute godsend. The drill is a purely manual one, whereby you turn the drill by hand, holding the headstock the whole time to keep the positioning. This makes it ideal for use on wood or plastics, but not so great with metals etc. Furthermore, the included drill bits feel and look a tad cheap, so are potentially likely to snap or wear out quickly if used on harder materials. However, for the price, and the overall quality of the drill itself and the small but effective vice it comes with, I’m still very impressed. Great to have on hand for smaller, more intricate jobs around the house, or fixing things. Really happy with this set.

Very nice little set
This is a really nice little precision set of hand drill bits and clamp. Clamp feels a bit cheap but the size of items you would be using this for means it shouldn't ever be an issue. Drill handle feels very erginomic and comfortable and bits seem like good quality.

Good and reasonable quality for the price
This is a really handy piece if kit for small jobs, providing everything you need to tackle tricky little projects. In the kit you get: * 20 x twist drill bits * 1x hand drill * 1x mini carving clamp * 10x Mini Drills It’s ideal for tackling small projects that a standard drill would be too large to tackle, for me that means crafting, and for that purpose it excels. I would say that the price point of the set means that you can’t expect it to last indefinitely, so OK for an amateur crafter, but not for professionals in my view. Handle with care and I’m sure it will last for a reasonable period and that’s all you can expect I reckon. Good and reasonable quality for the price.
