best keyboard ever!
So I looked a long time for the perfect keyboard, and I was less picky about the mouse but I wanted that to be a particular way too. This combo is quite perfect. The mouse is a perfect size, with comfort grip on the sides and a programmable button on either side that defaults to forward/back for whatever software you're working in at the time. The keyboard feels soooo good. The base where your hands rest has a soft feel but is very sturdy, the keys are soft touch (a little loud but not bad at all) and all those extra function keys, whoa! It will spoil the crap out of you for ever working on a stupid "normal" keyboard again with how it streamlines tasks and just generally makes your life easier once you develop the habits of actually using them instead of the multiple steps of the old way. Best of all, it's VERY easy to use. Setup is really simple (which is good, because it does NOT come with an instruction manual), it's literally plug and play; just put the batteries into the mouse and keyboard, plug in the receiver to your computer's USB and off you go. Just be sure to download the drivers to make use of the COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZEABLE favorites bar on the keyboard and all the different options you can choose to suit your preference for both devices. Also for my fellow lefties out there, this mouse can be configured for left hand use very easily as well. Definitely worth the money - highly recommend!

Great Keyboard
This keyboard is one of the best I have ever used. It is an ergonomic keyboard well designed. Typing is easy. Installation is very easy. Windows 10 recognized it immediately by model number. The mouse also works great, it works better for me than much more expensive ones I have bought before. The mouse has a lot or programmable features. The keyboard is not large. It fits perfect on my table and does not look bulky or take up too much space. The color and look is beautiful. There are plenty of programmable keys on the keyboard also. It has volume controls and pause and play buttons for music. Has a lot of pre programmed keys on the top rows. I even love the clacking of the keys. The keyboard is very durable and easy to clean. The only problem, if even I can consider it a problem, is that batteries on the mouse do drain pretty fast. I think this is a great value and an excellent keyboard. I love the look of it and the feel of the keys. The mouse, for me, fits my hand perfectly and is easy to use.

I absolutely love this product
I absolutely love this product! I purchased this combo to replace the wireless mouse and keyboard that came with my new computer. I am not a fan of wireless keyboards and mice and the original ones that came with my computer illustrate my pet peeve; there's a lag between when I press a key or click on the mouse and when it registers. I am extremely happy to say the Microsoft 5050 combo is lightning fast. When I press a button on the keyboard or move the mouse, it registers on the screen instantly. I also like the contour of the keyboard with the built in wrist rest. The keyboard itself is very quiet and feels solid. The mouse is also solid with a nice rubberized coating on the sides. This is such a well built product that just works. My only complaint is that the USB dongle is large. It isn't one of the tiny ones used by Logitech wireless products. This Microsoft dongle is the size of a standard flash drive. It isn't a huge deal but I would have preferred a smaller USB dongle that isn't sticking out of the side of my all in one computer.

Does What It Is Supposed To Do.
I ordered this Microsoft wireless keyboard-mouse combo a few weeks back to replace another set by another manufacturer that had been developing hiccups since the day I bought it, specifically pages scrolling randomly by themselves and a series of "keyboard error" messages that weren't cleared by reloading the software. I haven't owned it a tremendously long time, but here are my observations to date: THE POSITIVES: 1) I was taken aback at first by the fact that the keyboard did not have fold-out legs to tilt the keyboard toward the operator. However I soon discovered that the design of the keyboard included a built-in tilt, not as pronounced as my previous keyboard but sufficient, plus the fact that the keyboard sits on four rubber grips vs. two grips and two plastic pegs on the previous board, means it sits solidly on my computer stand and does not slide around when being used. 2) A little message appears in the lower right corner of the screen whenever the keyboard goes to caps on or caps off. Pretty handy. 3) Mouse works on any surface. You can ditch the mouse pad. 4) Keyboard layout (moderate curve) seems to fit my keyboarding style instinctively, and the tactile feedback when keyboarding is positive. 5) Solid build for both keyboard and mouse. THE NOT-SO-POSITIVES 1) The wireless connection does not have a lot of range. I originally tried it on a front USB port on my computer but it only worked intermittently. I do have one of those multi-port connectors on my desk which I keep connected to a rear computer port, and plugging in the wireless connector into that solved the problem. However when the multi-port connector slid or was bumped toward the back of my computer desk, things would stop working. Once it was positioned back in range, though, everything was fine. The "F" keys are minuscule. Not an issue for me as I rarely use them, but could be for someone who uses them more often. BOTTOM LINE This is a no-nonsense wireless keyboard-mouse combo that does what it it supposed to do. The limited range of the wireless connector is certainly not a deal-breaker, more of a minor annoyance and is one that can be adjusted to pretty quickly. I can't speak to battery life yet, but from what I know so far, I'd certainly recommend this product.

Buy it!
Hands down favorite keyboard Iโve ever purchased! It is ergonomic, lightweight, WIRELESS, the batteries last forever, and adjustable. I work from home permanently now and I use this 8 hours a day everyday. Itโs so comfortable to use and withstands a LOT of typing. Keys have never failed. Keys are quiet but not silent which is perfect for me. Highly recommend for anyone that works from home or planning to do a lot of typing for work or school! You wonโt regret it. The mouse on the other hand Iโm not a fan of. Itโs a lot larger than other standard mouses. The clicks are quiet too which is a large bonus just wish the mouse wasnโt so big.

Great combo keyboard and mouse
I love this set so much, I bought another set for a new PC build!!! Sits nicely and feels right. I have large hands and have no problems with this keyboard. Everything is quick and responsive. Battery lasts a LONG time. Mouse is okay but don't use mouse anymore. I use a logitech g502 gaming mouse now. Still love the keyboard! Lots of shortcut keys and smoothkeystrokes without being clicky loud like a lot of mechanical keyboards. Original keyboard I use still is over 5 yrs old and has plenty of life left. I play a few PC games and wore off the wasd key symbols.... All still works fine!

Excellent wifi keyboard!
My only complaint is after several years of amazingness and mega-usage the key labels wear off. You can purchase key stickers to re-label keys when this eventually happens, so not the end of the world. Because this is one of the best keyboards I've ever used, I want to purchase another one of these for a different computer and discovered Microsoft stopped making this model and no other keyboard seems similar enough. Why Microsoft?! Why!? :-(

Mouse doesn't work with Windows 10
I've had this keyboard and mouse (model 5000) for many years with my Windows 7 computer and it worked fine. Then I bought a Windows 10 computer and found the mouse does not work properly. The mouse pointer lags, jump, hangs, stutters, whatever you want to call it. This jumpiness varies and sometimes it works fine but then start acting up. I haven't found any rhyme or reason to it. I thought it also might be interference and I did some testing along those lines without success, but that also wouldn't explain why other makes of mouse work fine. The key board works fine. So I thought maybe a newer copy might work better so I bought the keyboard and mouse again and had the same problem with the mouse pointer. I researched on the internet and found a lot of other people had the same problem. I found lots of on-line advice on how to fix the problem but none of the ideas worked. The computer came with a HP wireless mouse and it worked fine. So did a Leadsail wireless mouse I bought. So bottom line is that other mice work with this Windows 10 but not the Microsoft 5000 mouse. I like the feel of the Microsoft mouse and that's main reason I kept messing with it trying to make it work, but it refuses to work properly. I also don't want to take up another USB port with a separate wireless mouse receiver, but if that's what I have to do to get a mouse to work properly then that's what I'll do. So for Windows 10 I wouldn't recommend this mouse and keyboard purchase. Update 3/05/19. I finally settled on a logitech mouse M525. I like the feel and seems to work great. Previously I reported the keyboard works fine, but lately I've been having some problems with it as well. I've noticed that if the hard drive seems to be busy the keyboard skips or doesn't respond. When the hard drive is done or slows down its activity the keyboard starts working again properly. Now I'm trying to select another keyboard.

UK Querty internals with US Querty keyboard - completely useless!
This item is not fit for purpose. Purchased in the UK from Amazon UK from a UK company yet it has US Querty keys and UK querty internals which means that some of the normal keys are missing completely and others are not where they are expected to be - completely useless piece of kit and don't even bother trying to get a full refund from Stuff-UK - that's not their style!
